I had the pleasure of enjoying brunch at Jalao restaurant. The food was fantastic. We started with the sancocho which was AMAZING, it tasted homemade and the presentation was exceptional. We both had the mofongo with steak. The mofongo had bits of bacon and it was really good. The steak was cooked perfectly and let's not forget about the unlimited drink option. The glasses are a very decent size of which I had the rose sangria, delicious. Our server was very nice, pleasant, humorous and professional. I'm already looking forward to making another reservation. Treat yourself and go to Jalao Restaurant.

Great food, ambience, and service. My friend and I shared the skirt steak montaditos and both had the rabo encendido with rice and peas—homemade flavor and absolutely delicious. We'll be returning for sure.

Went for dinner and it was so good! Staff was so so so hospitable! Really could tell that every dish waa carefully crafted and handled with care. Will certainly return and can't imagine how good/pretty it is during brunch.

Is a beautiful restaurant with great ambiance. Service was slow or not at all. We requested a few items after our food arrived and never made to the table. server was busy or no were to be found.

I came here recently for a bottomless weekend Brunch and I loved this place so much. The staff was attentive to my reservation and seated me where I requested and helped celebrate my friends birthday with singing and Tres Leches. The decor is sophisticated, yet cozy, and the food was an incredible elevated take on classic Dominican dishes. 9/10

My mom wanted to go to a Dominican restaurant for her birthday, and the long trip was worth it! We took longer than expected and were nervous the kitchen would be closed since OpenTable wouldn't offer a later booking yesterday. But as soon as we arrived, the receptionist said my name and warmly welcomed us, what a relief! The ambiance is classy with good leveled music. The waitress Gabriela was a gem, such a pleasant young lady. Now, the food... As soon as it arrived, we were amazed at the spectacular presentation and aromas emanating from the dishes, only to be surpassed by their mouth watering flavors. Everything was to die for (and I am an experienced Midtown foodie). An unforgettable culinary experience that we can't wait to head uptown for, absolutely a new favorite for my family!

I will never visit this restaurant again. They do not like black people at all. The way I was treated today was horrible and if I would’ve responded, cops would’ve been called. Go back to the Dominican Republic with those attitudes. Like are the bartenders even in this country legally??? Perhaps a phone call to ICE would do the trick! I’ll never step foot inside this establishment again.

I visited this restaurant to get a happy hour drink. As soon as I walked in the bartenders rolled their eyes at me. I asked for a passion fruit margarita and they started speaking in Spanish, obviously talking about me. After just making a drink for a Dominican patron, they acted as if they couldn’t find the passion fruit flavor and made me a peach flavored cocktail. The bartender then asked why I didn’t have a voucher after giving her my cash. She then takes my $20 and walks all over the restaurant speaking in Spanish. I asked her to give me my money back and I’ll go somewhere less racist. I’ll never step foot inside this restaurant again.

Amending prior review: Presently in talks with Management to give a June presentation there as I have a party with a block at the attached hotel. I have had many meals there and most of the food is good but expensive for the portion size. Hoping that Management can be far more responsive going forward as I was a regular customer with receipts but had to go in person to hear back from my email and phone calls. This is still unacceptable.

Beautiful place but that’s pretty much it. Service sucked so bad. I had bottomless mimosas had to wait 20-30 mins in between each drink. Food was good I liked it but it just felt like the workers were stuck on stupid. Everyone id bring up the fact I was still waiting on my drink was just giving the same blank stare and would go to the bar. Don’t recommend at all the service doesn’t match how beautiful the place is. 0/10
