I just had the absolute best experience at Jalao NYC!! It is my parents' 40th wedding anniversary and us siblings planned a special day for them that included dinner at Jalao. I spoke to the manager about making it special and they REALLY did!!! My parents enjoyed their dinner and said everything was delicious. But above all, they enjoyed the service. They said that everyone was so incredibly hospitable and welcoming. We are truly so grateful for Jalao and are looking forward to returning as well as having more special moments there!! If you haven't gone to Jalao, it's a must! You won't regret it!

Let's say that if I'm not in the area I don't come all the way here for dinner on purpose! The environment is very nice, very particular and characteristic, the best part of the hotel! Since we were staying there, we tried the restaurant one evening and were satisfied with both the choice and the flavors. Maybe they exaggerated a little with the onion in the starter but the second courses were excellent: my Cordon bleu melted in my mouth, while my sister was given the choice of which sauce to accompany her chicken (a whole chicken) 😲 The dessert was so good that we almost asked for another one to take to our room, even though it was a simple chocolate cake. Honest prices and very friendly and never intrusive staff.

“Today, we decided to go out to eat and came across Jalao NYC. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The restaurant was extremely noisy, with loud conversations making it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. Additionally, we noticed that the glass windows and furniture were visibly dirty, which affected our impression of the place. Due to the unpleasant environment and lack of cleanliness, we ultimately decided to leave without ordering. We hope the restaurant improves these aspects in the future.”

The place is definitely overhyped. The atmosphere is very cute and nice for pictures however, the food was not as tasty as it looked, some dishes were salty and others were bland, the starters were good though. There was food the was brought out to tables that wasn’t even on the menu. I’m not sure if they have different menus for lunch. The service was bad, the waiters would barely come over to the table to check up on us. The place wasn’t very busy, I guess they didn’t have much people on the floor. The cocktails were not hitting either, very strong, not delicious. On a positive note the presentation of the food is great, really pretty.

I recently visited Jalao NYC and was blown away by the experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The service staff was attentive without being overbearing. The decor is stylish and reminiscent of the Dominican Republic. Overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend it.
