Jasmine's is a rare find whose delectable Caribbean cuisine caters to the body and soul. All I had to do was to find their entrance door on Restaurant Row, which magically spirited me away to a tropical paradise. In fact, the artsy decor and upbeat music brought back fun childhood memories - albeit at a different tropical shore at a different time. They were memories of listening to Harry Belafonte's calypso records on my grandfather's turntable, as well as eagerly watching Sir Viv Richards take the crease on the telly, as he chewed gum in style and make his mark in the world of gentleman's cricket. Meanwhile, the staff seemed friendly and attentive and deserved extra credit for playing their part with their colorful floral shirts and outfits. Having dismissed the young waitress twice - for a duck, so to speak, and mainly due to my undecidedness - I finally settled on the Escovitch fish entree with a little apprehension. But boy, what a pleasant surprise! The well presented fried whole red snapper covered in various peppers, onions, and a spicy vinaigrette sauce, served with jasmine rice, was oozing with flavor and deliciousness ready to dazzle the tastebuds, which it did so well. The sweet plantains made for a nice side dish as well. Every morsel of food being chewed, if I may, was like a batsman driving the ball into the stands past silly point and above deep extra cover. After a wonderful meal, it was finally time to get back to the mundane city life. However, I'm not sure if life will be mundane anymore now that I know where to look for that escape door on Restaurant Row.

Great spot for pre Theatre dining. Quick service. Drink specials and good food. Very popular. You must have a reservation or sit at their nice bar. Decor inviting.

Let's start with the restaurant accommodating our party of ten (table of six and table of 4). Service was quick and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and drinks (oxtails got great reviews). Rum cake and bread pudding for dessert was a nice finish. Afterwards we ran in to the owner and she obliged my family with a group picture, made for a perfect ending to a perfect family outing. Thank you Jazmine for a wonderful experience

Walking in the ambience is cute, comfortable, and tropical! Like being on a island, service was fast friendly , The food is truly Good i came here 3 days in a row on my Trip to new york . im going to rate out of 5 on the dishes i had. The menu is straight forward they dont do combination , i was sad about that, reason i had to order full plates when i jus wanted the meat. One two drink will get u right u will feel it! Food rating out of 5. CurryGoat- i had my heat level to 4.. its true heat! Real Goatpepper! Made it hard for me to enjoy the spice took over, when i did find meat it was tender but it was alot of bones so i would rate it (3.9.) Jerk wings- 4 Oxtail- 4.5 a little to sweet for me but its super tender! Coconut rice- the flavor was great!! but everyday i order it they never cook the rice proper , it was like uncook rice with cook rice! ( i hope they fix this the flavor ia really good!):: so i made sure order white rice for backup and that was cook proper. Red snapper - 5 this was my fav dish on the menu i came back everyday for the fish perfect seasoning! Not too dry fry just right! Definitely a comfortable friendly spot to check out! I will be back whenever i come to new york! A nice Caribbean restaurant.

WOW. The moment you walk into this restaurant, you feel like you're transported to a tropical island. The decor is stunning with beautiful, bright colors and art. My group of 4 ordered a ton of food and it came out quickly. I'm no one to comment on the authenticity, but my god , everything was delicious. The drinks were HUGE. The Ackee and Saltfish was something I've never tried before but was spectacular. Crab cakes, codfish fritters, jerk chicken, plantains were all a 10/10. Servers were fantastic, attentive and not overbearing. Music was bumping, a mix of reggae and other favorites. Jasmine's was a fantastic place to unwind after a long week of work. Can't wait to go back.

We called several times in Saturday and got the answering machine. The answering machine stated they opened at 2:00pm. We took our chances and drove over... they were opened. Husband goes in and ordered 2 oxtail dinner and 1 side of callaloo. He came out with the food less than five minutes. We didn't smell anything in the car but the food was wrapped in ceramic wrap, so we took it that as the reason that we smelled nothing. Anyway, when we got a chance to eat, it was less than appealing. The portions were small for it to be a $36 dinner and the $8 callaloo was also a very small portion. The food looked old especially the oxtails. Very disappointed... I wonder if they gave us the food from the night before since we got there a little after 2:30pm. I took pictures, maybe others would not be disappointed but we def were. So, the hope would be that it was better than it looked... but it tasted old and nasty, as well. Sorry, I hate write bad reviews. Normally I do not, but since it was so pricey and then a required tip was expected... I just wish they were closed when we got there because it does not seem like they were ready to serve us. See pics and decide for yourself. None of the food had been eaten in the pics.

Jasmine's was such a beautiful experience, and the food was great. We are visiting from Florida, and my husband loves Jamaican and Caribbean food. We footed it to this restaurant and was greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us at a high top table. Great ambiance, adult beverages were on point (I ordered the rum punch), and our dishes were delicious. I ordered the Veggie Cook Up, and my husband ordered the Curry Chicken. We are still in town, so I am trying to see how we can return before we leave! Thanks so much!Vegetarian options: Clearly Indicated on their menu
