Love Java Girl. And will go out of my way, the coffee is excellent, but the ambience is awesome as well. That home style feel, a cozy throw back to the days before chain coffee shops. Love the coffee barrels and ability to buy house coffee beans. Great touch. Love the chairs, bench, outside when the weather is warmer.
I like this place. Atmosphere is lively but not loud. Pastries are great. They’ve got some holiday tchotchkes for sale. Old school self serve for both coffee and pastries, its almost got the global vintage coffeehouse aesthetic.
My favorite coffee place on the upper east side. Warm cozy nook for sitting. Friendly baristas. Decent food. On a sunny day there’s a great coterie of older patrons sitting outdoors that’s like a slice of Rome.
