The dishes here feel both new and somehow familiar. We felt immediately at home at Javitri Indian Cuisine! The staff displays remarkably good looks. Nothing seems to be an afterthought here. This spot exceeds expectations and I tell everyone!

Lovely atmosphere, great food, full bar - typical small neighborhood style restaurant in New York City. Perfectly charming. Will definitely be back. It was so good, in fact, I forgot to take many pictures.

Ordered Passion Fruit Pani Puri Shot, Chef Special Lamb Shank Biryani, Kolhapuri Goat, and Garlic Naan. The lamb shank and goat were super tender and flavorful. The lamb shank was falling off the bone. If you can’t take the spice, they have yogurt sauce with the lamb and you can ask for mild. Would come back!

I had such a wonderful dining experience at Javitri Indian Cuisine on the Upper East Side. From start to finish, the service and food were excellent.

I ordered the Eggplant Bharta and the Subz Handi Bemisal, along with rice. I asked for everything to be prepared with less oil, less salt, and mild spice, and to my delight, the dishes came out exactly as I requested. The flavors were fresh, authentic, and perfectly balanced.

A big thank you to our server Denzil, who was attentive and made sure all my preferences were carefully followed. I was also impressed that Chef Dhanduram came out personally to confirm the food was prepared to my liking. We had a lovely conversation, and it was clear how much care and passion he puts into his cooking.

Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or a meat lover, you’ll find plenty of options here. With warm service, authentic flavors, and thoughtful touches, Javitri Indian Cuisine is a true gem on the Upper East Side.

Got the saag paneer which was blended smooth: my favorite! Flavor was pretty good and the spices didn’t overpower the spinach. It was a bit overly oily though. Paneer was soft and creamy. But the amount of rice provided was so small! I did takeout so not sure if the takeout containers are just that small so maybe you get more rice dining in, but I usually get double the rice taking out at other Indian restaurants.

I did enjoy this Garlic Naan which was large, thin, yet fluffy.

They did provide some free Gulab Jamun though which I really appreciated! This one was not overly sweet and I really enjoyed it.

We came in for a really early lunch, so couldn't say much about the atmosphere.
The service was very friendly and super attentive.
We had the aloo chat and lamb chops for starters and they were both better than what we had in other places.
For mains we took the Kohlapuri Goat that was unique and worked really well with the mint paratha as our waiter suggested, and the malai kofta that was delicious but pretty standard.
All in all great food and a great experience.

One of the few Indian restaurants in UES with not one but two real Tandoors. We had pani puri, tandoori apps, malai kofta, and breads — all fantastic North Indian fare. The chef and wait staff were friendly, and they even brought us complimentary rasmalai. Thank you!

Javitri is a hidden gem on the Upper East Side. The flavors are bold yet refined—every dish feels thoughtfully crafted. The jackfruit biryani was a standout, and the kebabs were tender and perfectly spiced. The staff is warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the space is modern and elegant without being stuffy. Whether you're a fan of authentic Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Javitri is a must-visit. A truly memorable dining experience.
