We wondered why Joe's was the only place on Hudson Street, Sunday afternoon that didn't have a line out the door... staff is a big reason! They set up at a table eating take out food, with feet on the furniture, yelling to and at each other, throughout our time there. When they finished they left their take out garbage on the table, used napkins on the floor and went back to work. Good cap and muffin, nice room, but to accompany this poor staff behavior, they were blasting music- pleasing to staff, but not to the customers. What gives?!?!

I'm reading some of these reviews and I get it. I get why some may not enjoy the music being played or maybe even the type of music being played but honestly, I DID : ). I also get a bit about the service as it was no issue for me, but I did witness the staff being mixed up on people's orders and my friend's drink was forgotten about and she had to remind them about it. Also, the price of my small all-black coffee was unnecessary. Other than that this place was a vibe for me! Yes- I did enjoy their music selection and no did it bother me one bit. In fact, it added to my whole experience. The music wasn't even loud, and we were able to enjoy our time and carry out a conversation with no issue. I also enjoyed the layout of this location as it gave it a bit of a cozy feel. If you're wondering if I enjoyed myself or not, then clearly the answer is YES!

Question I had for the owner, after leaving today (1/4/24, at 12:00 noon): If one is asked to pay $9 for 12 ounces of 'Green Tonic' juice, is it too much to ask that the juice not be watered down to the point of being flavorless? Apparently it is too much at this outpost. Also the cashier was so. damn. loud he made the juice even worse.

My dear friend James lives in the West Village neighborhood, and has informed me that this Joe and the Juice consistently starts blasting music loudly at 6am and throughout the day until the nighttime where it's felt in the surrounding apartments.When the employees are asked about the music, they admit it is for their own enjoyment. Frankly, he tells me, it's annoying, immature, and illegal according to the NYC noise code, although I am not an expert on such legal matters.I feel that it's my responsibility to share that James feels that it’s his responsibility to remind you that no one goes to Joe and the Juice to dance or listen to house music at full volume.They go for a smoothie or sandwich.
