Irish bar in the garmet district. Went for lunch. Ordered a Reuben which wasn't bad but have had better. Beers were expensive but it's NYC! Bat maid was more concerned to play with her cell phone than take care of customers. Elevator repair guys came in for lunch, with one of them being Irish with a heavy brogue. The bar maid couldn't
understand one word this guy said. It was sad!

At around 10 pm I walked in and stopped and looked at the TV screen to get the score in the Rangers game. Immediately the barman spoke behind me and asked if I wanted a menu. Still trying to see the score I said that I was "thinking" figuring that I'd be left alone for at least a minute. He immediately told me that if I wasn't drinking then "pffft" he made a sound with his lips and his eyes showed me to the door. I didn't feel like arguing, nor did I feel like ordering, because I still hadn't been able to see the Rangers score. So I left. So my best guess at a food rating is three stars (average).

I work near Penn station, pass this place every day and have drank here many times over the years, ran into John’s this evening and out of courtesy asked the barman Dave I think his name was Dave, if I could use the bathroom and was refused because I didn’t buy a drink. It was very quiet, maybe 15 people. All of this is funny because the state of place outside with the scaffolding and homeless. I went 1 block down, had a pint and got my train. Don’t go here. Waste of your time.

great bartenders that make the experience even better
I didn’t get any food. I went for a friends birthday. I ordered a double captain and coke and then i ordered a beer before i left. The beer was 7 dollars. The double coke was 20. I was going to leave a cash tip, but when i got a notification for my second drink it said only a penny was charged to me…. I thought “that’s weird” my friends were rushing to leave, i forgot about it and left. Today i get an updated notification on my cash app card saying that a tip was added and my bill updated to over 10 dollars. Which means someone added a tip to my bill without my consent. I had already left a cash tip earlier on the table, but this is THEFT. And i am not amused. I tried calling to sort this out but no one answered the phone. So i will be coming in person to understand why bartenders are adding tips to their orders illegally.
