I heard review that food was good so I thought It would try it. Went in and even though there is scaffolding over the building ( been up for 8 years) it may have somewhat slowed business. I tried a turkey wing Mac & cheese & collards and as they rang me up after the fact they stated their CC machine was done. Ran next door to get cash. I went home to try and was very disappointed. The turkey wing was undercooked, m&c was overcooked noodles and burnt cheese, and greens was over season which took our pressure way up. My friend called immediately to give his opinion. The rep wanted to rectify the problem. When went back within an hour and on the house we had bbq wingettes, fresh Mac & cheese and cabbage. I like the cabbage, m&c was now too loose and didn't try wings. He purchased a plate for his son with same except he got j*** wings which he liked.I want to rate them better especially since they lost lease to building which is being sold last day March 30.If they cover the food it may not dry out so fast as it was sitting.I did taste pumpkin pie, was good crust looked pasty.The way good looks is how you first want to eat it and I wanted to support black owned business.Maybe when they relocate and re-establish themselves I will give them one more try but I

No frill stall, served the best lamb chop !! So tender and juicy! Big portion too.The yellow cabbage is one hot favourite.Must come n try!

This was not good fried chicken. I just moved in around the block and wanted to try some real Harlem soul food. The fried chicken was mushy….you can tell it was really bad, old, or frozen chicken. It was also poorly fried, the skin had no coating. I took a few bites and tossed it. I love fried chicken, so I think this was the 1st piece I’ve ever thrown away in my life TBH. The Mac and cheese was also below average. Service was also a bit unprofessional, as the cashier person was sitting down on her phone, and had to be called to ring the order up….she was annoyed she had to help a customer. The credit card machine also had an issue taking my card, I had to tell her it says there’s a network error, for her to fix it, then they could complete my order.

Food was Great! Customer Services was good the 2 guys very short with you they don't want to answer questions about the food. The Lady was Very nice she had Customer service and she was informative about the different types of Turkey Wings and pleasant. It's a small place no real decor.

I usto goto Johnny Kaks Pre-Covid and the food was pretty good. Although in recent years the level of quality has severely plummeted! Today me and my girlfriend ordered Two plates of “ j*** “ chicken Mac-N-Cheese, mash potatoes, rice & peas and string beans. I use the term “ j*** “ very very loosely because what we got was basically baked chicken lightly sprinkled with j*** seasoning. The chicken skin was uncooked and almost raw like. The mash potatoes were basically cheap instant mash, the string beans were frozen and stale. The macaroni and cheese was very bland and not throughly cooked, rice and peas were hard. Overall the food was disgusting I wouldn’t recommend you go here anymore it tasted nothing like authentic Jamaican food basically fake nasty cheap imitation soul food that they label Jamaican just avoid Johnny kaks at all cost.

Love this place. I order from uber eats bc its not next to my job. The food is delicious and so worth it.

Do not eat anything here! This restaurant is nasty! The lady with the glasses that work there is nasty! It looks as though this place hasn't been cleaned since never! The floors, the walls, the glass casing for the food, all absolutely nasty!

Decided to try something different and new to me. So glad i did! The honey garlic Turkey wing is fall off the bone delicious, the crab cakes are huge and full of flavor with a good spicy kick and the Mac & cheese is perfect!

I stopped my today and purchased the turkey wins with Spinach rice and Spinach. I am soo glad that I stopped by. Food was well seasoned. I will be back

The macaroni and cheese taste like too much butter the turkey wings was alright the white rice was over cooked the spinach rice taste blend the Rasta pasta no sauce the butter beans was nasty.My first and last time ordering I couldn't catch my daughter before she ordered she wanted bake turkey wings they gave her 1bake 1 j*** turkey wings the rice wasn't the cabbage was alright I tolher to order from Wats on your plate 2 there food is so good never again we both learned owe lesson

This restaurant, was extraordinary. First time here and they made me feel welcomed. The food was outstanding I specifically loved the turkey wings and dirty rice side with mac and cheese and cornbread. You will not regret coming here, and the price was great.

This is a Hennessy turkey wing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And they have other flavors, J**** Honey garlic, bbq. That's at least 3 more trips for me.I enjoyed the sides. Mac and cheese has flavor and does it part as a side. The candied yams taste one step away from being a delicious sweet potato pie.

First order was great, however by the third time ordering it was pretty much a love/ hate decision. If one doesn't mind waiting for late deliveries, then fine, but when the quality/taste of the food starts going downhill, then it's time 2 look elsewhere or cook 4 self. The staff is very professional, courteous, they will contact you upon an order change to menu or inform you that they're running late, and even offer you a discount.

VERY inconsiderate when it comes to meat portion. Majority of my food was collard greens!

I have ordered from this restaurant via uber eats 13 times.The food is generally delicious. The honey garlic salmon, potato wedges, baked mac and cheese, and candied yams are perfection. The red rice, okra and chicken stuffing were disgusting. The meatloaf and plantains are a toss up sometimes good other times bad.
