This restaurant caters to large groups of people eating at one time. They make a reservation and that is fine. We went Friday night and were told the wait would be 30 minutes. After 45 minutes, we asked people behind us and they had been waiting an hour and a half and we’re also told the wait was 30 minutes. We left and went to Sardis where the food was better. Be honest about the wait times.

Very nice Italian restaurant near Times Square. The pizza's enormous, and ideal for sharing. Staff is friendly and helpfull, and not too pushy. From the outside the restaurant looks tiny, but inside the space is enormous. The building is worth visiting for the nice inside decorations. The quality of the food is good.

Terrible place. I was told this place was owned by the same people as John’s Pizzeria that I’d been to uptown, so I wanted to try it since I had folks in town from Chicago who were staying in Times Square. The wait was long which is to be expected in the area, and I will say the cheesy garlic bread we got at the bar while we waited was decent. The problem was the service and pizza quality. The server barely came to our table at all once we were seated. The pizza came and the bottom crust was wet and soggy. We barely ate much but we were starving at that point and had to eat SOMEthing. When we told them the bottom was wet and soggy, the server just kind of shrugged. You shouldn’t have anything related to pizza in the name of the restaurant if the actual pizza is trash. Very disappointing if this is the same John’s Pizzeria from uptown, because the uptown location had some of the best pizza I’ve had in NYC. Please correct me if these locations are not affiliated with each other.I would’ve given zero stars if I could simply because Chicago is also known for its pizza, so now my visitors are convinced that NYC pizza is inferior. I see why!

I used to love this place. However, when I recently tried to go after a matinee with my family, party of 3, I was told that they only seat parties of 15 or larger and we would have to wait 2 hours. It was empty inside. A few tables were seated and eating. What a disappointment.

Have been here several times before and enjoyed the pizza. This time the pizza was bland and certainly not worth $25.I'm wondering if John's has just become another Times Square tourist trap.

Experienced pretty poor service when we visited here just before 10pm on a Wednesday. Decided to visit this based on a youtube vlog about this place. While there were plenty of tables available, we were completely ignored when we entered. We caught a server's attention who went to get someone who then came and asked how many in our party and went to get someone else. At this point, people from my party headed to the restrooms. The hostess shows up with only 2 out of 7 now standing and we explain that everyone is here but they went to the toilet as we have been waiting for a while. She then goes and checks on something and says we have to wait 5 more minutes. To our surprise, quite a few tables around us were empty at this point. If a table needed to be cleaned up, they could have communicated that clearly instead. The service was totally lacking, while there were multiple employees having a chit chat. No thank yous or goodbyes were said either. The restaurant had no music playing and looked pretty dull and sad during dinner. The pizzas were good. Would not recommend dine in here. I suppose the dome only looks good during the day due to the sunlight, when we visited, it had zero lighting.

Would not recommend at all!!I got a sandwich. Came warm but had to wait 30 min for my friend to get her APPETIZER!! Just for my food to be cold and totally dry! Service didn’t even look at us to see what’s wrong! None of them. The table next to us hat pasta directly but got the other food 1 hour later! One person was eating and 3 other people were waiting the whole time!!

Terrible service. My husband's spaghetti and meatballs came out 20 minutes before my pizza which took nearly a half hour to come out of the kitchen. And when it finally did, it had the wrong topping on it. The waiter promised us he could bring another one in "5 minutes." By then my husband was completely finished with his meal. The pizza is tastey tho, but the experience was disappointing.

This is a great spot for good pizza. We got the gluten free hawaiin and a pepporoni pizza and we enjoyed them both. The service was pretty terrible though. We had to get up and find someone to refill our water. The server would disappear for long periods of time.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pizza and pasta options.

Went to dinner with a friend for his birthday over the weekend. This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, even better food. If you are looking for true New York pizza, this is one of the places you must try!
