This was definitely a unique experience but I can't confidently say it was fully worth the steep price. The full tasting menu (studio counter) is $235 per person, with one dish having a $25 upcharge, and wine runs around $200 a bottle. The "bagel" amuse bouche was a nice start, cute and so fun texturally. As for the dishes, the eel and jajangmyeon were my favorites- so rich and delicious! Some of the other dishes didn't taste like anything special. The service is spectacular like other reviews mentioned; everyone was so welcoming and attentive. It was overall a nice experience for a special occasion, but I've had better tasting menus for half the price.

Awed by the food, but disappointed by the service. The highlight was unquestionably the cuisine. Even the speed bumps of some sand/grit in a crab and sourdough noodle dish that shocked one’s teeth, and an uncharacteristically gristly cut of wagyu weren’t enough to fully detract from the cuisine. We loved the fusion of French pastry and Korean-Chinese fare, and the bright, refreshing flavors throughout. Standouts were the crispy eel, pan fried cod, and savory cheese ice cream.Being sat at the Chef’s Table, one excitedly anticipates being in the action, and to experience all of the passion, care, and meticulousness that a Michelin Star and $250+ price point demands. But while we enjoyed an inside look into this food’s preparation, we also had a front row seat to clear issues between our head chef and a few of the servers, and when combined with some presentational inconsistencies (visible phone use by employees, and clear issues between staff that evening) the experience didn’t meet expectations that the high price point and prestige would suggest. With the right company, we’d certainly consider returning for the food alone, though as a holistic experience it was ultimately not as polished as the price point demands, and disappointing compared to the many other options this city has to offer.

Absolutely incredible experience! Each course was better than the next. The banh mi was our personal favorite. Madison was really helpful and was easy to talk to. We are excited to visit the Chelsea Market location!!!

I want to begin with things that are not seen, service, attention to detail, and the atmosphere. Pearl spoons, unique utensils, or in some cases eaten by hand as instructed.Service, no, elevated service is how you take a meal to the next level, this was platinum service.Food, think outside the box, stay true to your cultural flavors, and use the freshest sourced ingredients and now you might know the wonderful experience that can be had.

some of the dishes were amazing, but others fell flat compared to places like jua or kochi. one of which was the loaded potato dessert, which was interesting as a concept but as a dessert was not very tasty. the best thing was the banh mi which seemed more like a tartare to me. quite a few times they labelled dishes like “banh mi” or “jjajangmyeon” but i failed to see the connection due to how little they would have in common with the name.

overall good, but compared to similar upscale korean places at similar prices it didn’t wow me.

All of the items on the tasting menu were very well executed. The key lime dessert was phenomenal! The servers were super professional. Probably a bit pricey but that's very likely true of any other restaurant with a Michelin star.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Joomak Banjum, and it truly was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were immersed in a world of exquisite flavors and impeccable service. The Korean fusion concept at Joomak Banjum is a culinary masterpiece. The unique combination of dishes and flavors showcased the chef's creativity and skill. Each bite was a delightful journey through the richness of Korean cuisine with a modern twist. The service was top-notch, and the sommelier's recommendations complemented our meal perfectly. The attention to detail and personalized touch added to the overall charm of the evening.A special mention to the chef who took the time to visit our table. Their passion for their craft was evident, and it elevated our dining experience to a whole new level. We can't wait to return. A sincere thank you to the entire team for making our evening truly special.***Truffle Pasta was the favorite

Food and service is amazing but with that price point i would expect better interior design :)

But the food is so worth it, for christmas menu, the caviar and hay custard, as well as the ebi eclair blew my mind.

Very interesting food and really quite good. It's supposed to be Korean fusion, but some dishes were definetely less Korean than others.. The duck breast was very good, but I really couldn't see how it's it's Korean at all, except maybe the grapes that were garnishes on it? The sauce on some dishes like the eel rice, I thought were a bit too heavy and covered the flavor of the ingredients.Service was excellent and the vibe of the place is casual but refined.

We enjoy eating out at quality establishments. Food has little to do with price and much more to do with taste, presentation etc. We came here for my birthday and i honestly thought the food was mediocre at best. All dishes were sweet with no nuance in flavor or texture. I was actually taken aback at how underwhelming the meal was having just dined at jua, Crown Shy, kingdom and Llama San! For a $400pp price point, I would never come back. Importantly I would also not come back for a 50$ pp opportunity for the same menu either. Happy Thanksgiving ??❤️

food is just okayService is greatThe first dish The donut thing is too fragile to touch (falls apart when trying to pickup)Please take the PB &J off the menu, can't taste anything good out of it.Gap between each dish is bit too long, especially when the atmosphere is not too joyful.I honestly do find some set up a bit unnecessary .like the setup for eel,do people really need a fork and knife?
