One of my favorite spots in the area to stop in and get work done. Spacious seating area and a friendly staff make this an ideal cafe for those looking to do some reading or connect to WiFi for productivity. Coffee is mostly Latin America and excellent with one of their pastries.

If you're a coffee person, and want authentic coffee without all the commercial nonsense, go to the best...COLUMBIA...enough said.

Very spacious cafe to get work done and grab a quick bite. I needed a place to work out of for a couple of hours in between appointments. There were a few Starbucks in the area but I decided to go with Juan Valdez and I'm glad I did. I ordered a cappuccino with soy milk but wished they had more plant based milk options. I also had a ham and cheese croissant which was pretty good. I was able to get lots of work done with minimal interruptions. The baristas were very kind and attentive. I will definitely return if I'm in the area and need a space to work. Highly recommended!

Their brewed coffee was good, balanced and perfect with milk. Next time I’ll try the coffee with cardamom. They also offer empanada on the menu instead of the usually cafe pastries like croissants or muffins.

I was introduced to Juan Valdez in it hometown of Colombia. Soo good I bought a bunch to return home. And then I ran out, so I decided to google to see if I would be able to order and ship some to myself. And I found we had one in NY!!!!And it did not disappoint. Juan Valdez in Colombia is everywhere and super delicious, I’m glad it didn’t lose its authenticity when it made it to New York! I love it here!

For what you go a Café without INTERNET!? I tried to give to this place another chance. What a waste of time!

Came here for breakfast a couple days ago and was pleasantly surprised! Nice spacious interior that's not too crowded and has a good amount of space for everyone. Service was quick. Things weren't labeled very well in the case but the guy at the counter was very helpful. I had a bottle of blackberry ice tea which, while they didn't make it, was delicious. Not too sweet and just enough blackberry. I also had the ham and cheese croissant and a lemon cake slice. Both were surprisingly delicious! Much better than I was expecting. Croissant was so nice and flaky and not heavy on the ingredients on the inside. Simple yet done well. Same goes for the lemon cake which they very kindly warmed up for me as well. Not dry at all and not overly sweet. Again, nothing fancy but just done very well. Definitely will be back if I'm ever in the area. Check em out!

Been here a few times now as a relaxing lunch spot in the area. Well designed interior with couches, leather seats, and significant table-seating all around. Never that crowded in the afternoon, so can order without any wait. Most recently had the Latte ($4) to go along with a Buñuelo ($3). Latte is as strong as expected, although not overwhelmingly bitter. The buñuelo is a cheese-stuffed bread ball that's densely packed. Okay cheese flavor while you mostly get the baked bread taste. Best to be paired with a coffee. Service here is quick and as mentioned previously, the place is designed for a long stay if you want to work or study. Coffee is sold by the bag here as well.

Juan Valdez Cafe on East 57th Street has been on my to go list for years! Since I've been using coffee as incentive to get out to walk every day I decided to see what Juan has to offer. I was impressed with the reviews but it was even more incredible in person. This place is a beautiful atmosphere to relax with a cup of coffee. I like the front window seating. I'm sorry it's got scaffolding out front making the view of the building from both the street (and from inside looking out front) very unpleasant. Everything else inside is clean and comfortable. Everyone is enjoying the free WiFi. The man behind the counter is so nice. He reassured me he is here every morning 7am. That was yesterday for my photo shoot! Today I walked back again for my coffee. The Juan Valdez Coffee I selected was 16oz for only $2.49! Naturally it's VERY very good coffee. He filled it up to the top so I'll be looking for a restroom soon! When I returned this second visit the line was long but I didn't mind the wait. There's two people working hard to keep it moving. Many people were ordering food to go. There's plenty of room for social distancing and hand sanitizer on the counter. There's seating inside and outside under the scaffolding. Your receipt has the bathroom code and WIFI Code. I couldn't get the WIFI to connect. They're busy and I didn't want to bother them. Juan's has pastries unlike the typical coffee shop pastries. I didn't eat anything with my coffee but reviews are good and prices are good too. I'm recommending Juan Valdez on 57th Street when you are nearby and need a break. I had a good coffee day today and a long walk. I'll be back for a snack to go with my coffee some morning soon. I'll meet you here.

Colombian coffee, the best coffee in the World. Nothing else is needed. Excellent pastries, including Colombian arepas, almojábanas, buñuelos, etc. You can also buy Juan Valdez Coffee to brew at home. The Arequipe Latte es delicioso.

Way better coffee than Starbucks and cheaper, even the decoration is nicer in here. They have fast Wifi, very relaxing place to chill out, study, and hang out with friends. Even though is a Colombian place you feel the city atmosphere. Real Colombian coffee, very tasty. I haven't try the food yet but it looks good too. Definitely a good coffee shop around this area.
