Just went to buy a Kings cake (galettes des rois) which was wayyy too expensive, but I needed it.
The quality was not good, frangipane inside doesnt even feel homemade. Very sad and def not worth over $40

Uncommon Beauty Gallery

The lemon tart was simply awful.
Never going back.

I wish coffee and tea were served in proper cups and their otherwise very good pastries in individual plates. Especially considering the size of the table area it should be so hard to achieve a decent service. It’s 2024 and I hate having a disposable cup and unnecessary plastic on my table.

My husband found a nail in his pastry! A small zinc nail with a head, baked into the spiral pastry. Fortunately he saw it before he swallowed it. The counter staff was unconcerned. They called the manager at our request (the manager wasn't onsite, and all the pastry is baked in Queens), and the manager eventually conveyed the message that we could have another pastry for free if we wanted it. No one apologized, no one seemed concerned or upset. We won't go back.

Came for the cube croissant and the server told me that they are no longer offering it. At her recommendation, I had the pain au chocolat and I also ordered a matcha latte. The pain au chocolat was very good but the matcha was pretty bad. Place has a kitsch French theme.

Good macarons.

Reviewing the baguette only, it's $4.68, and tastes like an underbaked Trader Joe's baguette.

I like this location better than the York avenue location. The space is bigger and the service seems more pleasant depending on who you get. Is also more centrally located than the York avenue location which is closer to the edge of the island.

Best French Cafe I think exists. Fabulous French pastries artfully & deliciously made. I tried a croissant that had almond paste AND chocolate in it. Unbelievably scrumptious and unreal! The macrons are BEYOND and the Flan Custard in a puff pastry dish was TO DIE FOR! We live 2 blocks away so having access here is DIVINE! I have to discipline myself not to go everyday or I’d weigh 500lbs. Love. This. Place.

I found the store to be noisy as the worker was clanking the espresso portafilter constantly to get the espresso grinds out. It was very annoying and I couldn't wait to get out the store. I ordered a cappuccino, took one sip, then promptly tossed it out. I found that it tasted like tar water. It had a very burnt taste that left an aftertaste in my mouth. This is supposed to be a quality place and I think it is funny that my home Nespresso was way better, smoother, and tastier than their coffee. They have a few locations that I will never visit as they clearly don't have a focus on quality. At least the store seemed clean and the employees were nice.
