Jupiter at Rockefeller Center is the kind of place that reminds you why New Yorkers avoid restaurants built entirely on foot traffic. The experience falls apart before you even sit down. The host sets the tone, and here the tone is confusion. No command of the room, no sense of welcome, no confidence. First impressions matter, especially in a city where hospitality is a craft. This one was missed completely. Yes, the restaurant will survive without repeat customers, but that is not an excuse for indifference. For a tourist, this is worse than a bad meal. It is a distorted introduction to New York dining. If this were my only reference point, I would leave thinking the city's food scene is overrated and overpriced at best. And then there is the food. It is shockingly underwhelming. Not offensive, not ambitious, just careless. The frustrating part is that it would not take much to make it passable. Basic seasoning (easy in the salt!) attention to execution, a hint of pride. Right now, it feels like a place coasting on its address rather than earning it.
The portions of food are incredibly small. My daughter ordered the ravioli, which came served in halves. She had 8 small halves on her plate and nothing else. She left hungry. I had the paparadelle, which was also a small portion, and another member in our group had the red snapper....again very small portion. Oh, and we ordered the potato chip appetizer for $12...and received 8 total potato chips in a very small cup. We will not be back.

My sister & I recently visited our hometown NYC and met some old friends at Jupiter for lunch. We had a wonderful experience. It’s a beautiful restaurant adjacent to the Rockefeller Center skating rink with views of the rink while you're dining. It certainly put us in the Christmas spirit. The food was wonderful but the portions are small for the price but it was delicious. My sister & I were wanted to eat light so we shared the arancini (rice balls) which were outstanding and the pspardelle pasta with slow cooked beef ragu. Delicious! Pancetta dessert was fabulous! Staff was great. It was an overall fun & enjoyable experience.

It’s so unfortunate that such a gem of a spot when it comes to service and atmosphere, just completely missed on the food. Our experience there was delightful, celebrating an anniversary, and looking forward to a great night. Our server was awesome, she was attentive and just good at her job, which granted her a good tip from me, along with the vibe of the place and the drinks, all was great! The food, though, yikes. Caesar salad with no caesar dressing, weird flavor and croutons that are rocks. Focaccia that is cold as a rock also, yikes. I’ve worked at an Italian restaurant in the past for years, a cacio e pepe sauce should not be as dark and oily as this one they have on the menu! Extremely disappointing, and the pork chop, just dry as ever, however, decent flavor. The best dish of the night was probably the roasted rosemary potatoes, which even though were unreal and super good, shouldn’t be the case with a place that could be so popular. With the prime location, the vibe, the service, the drinks, this place could be the spot in Midtown, but the food was so disappointing. Hate to say it but won’t be going back because at the end of the day, the food is probably the most important thing to ace, and at Jupiter, it’s just not the case.

The space is freezing - we had to wear our coats thru dinner. You will not see the tree from any table. The service is horrendous
And the food is worse.

We had the pleasure of dining at Jupiter with our children and grandchildren Dec 1 and what a wonderful experience it was. The service was impeccable and the food absolutely delicious. A little remodel as you enter might be good, but once inside, it was great.

We had reservations and when we checked in we requested to be seated inside but that request fee on deaf ears. The taste of the food was good but plan on eating again after you have dinner. The portions of the pasta entrees were minimal and very over priced for what they gave you. A $30.00 simple pasta dish should be filling to say the least. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating and his service ( Nick) was very good.
