The food at the restaurant was enjoyable, with good flavor and decent portion sizes. However, the highlight was the outstanding desserts. Unfortunately, our overall experience was quite deflating due to the poor service we received from our server, Octavio. It seemed like Octavio was upset about something, as he completely dismissed us throughout our dinner.Octavio did not offer refills on our drinks, and when we inquired about the dessert menu, it was only provided after we had been waiting for 20 minutes with no acknowledgment from him. When we asked for the check, he failed to bring it to our table. This led us to give our card to another staff member to ensure we could make it to our train on time. Octavio then rudely dropped off our card without even bidding us goodnight, leaving us feeling puzzled and dissatisfied by his behavior.I would like to address Octavio directly: If serving is not the right fit for you, I would strongly suggest considering a different career path. Your role is to assist guests and create memorable experiences, and your service on this occasion was far from satisfactory."

This was my third time going to kahlo and the worst service. I ordered the winter salad and asked for a protein (like chicken) which I have had before. The waiter said no immediately and only after I explained that I had had it that way before, was willing to ask the chef if it could be done. Once it came out, the portion was much smaller than the other time. Still a pretty restaurant and decent food, but really found this disappointing and may not be back.

Wonderful menu. The cocktails were impressive and I recommend getting their fruity mocktail with vodka or tequila! Delicious! Will definitely try to get the sea bass next time (they were out when we were there). Feel free to enjoy a little dessert drama with the flambe key lime pie!

This is one my favorite Mexican restaurants in New York City. The food is always consistent and delicious. Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can't wait to return to Kahlo and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat or just sit at the bar and have some drinks.

This is a gem! The decor and atmosphere are a perfect mesh of elevated glam and the comforts of home. The service is impeccable!!! Literally everyone on the floor acknowledged us and was genuinely concerned with our experience. The food is top tier! The vuelve a la vida tostada was extremely fresh and a generous portion. The truffle carne asada sandwich was decadent and unlike anything else I’ve ever had. We had the Frida, strawberry margarita and a spicy margarita for drinks. They were all amazing. We had the key lime and tequila dessert. It was beautifully flambés at our table. Do not let this quiet and quaint spot fool you. You want to eat here!!!!!!! I cannot say enough to tell you why you need to come and eat here!!!!!!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed by the taste of the dishes. They all sound very promising but once they arrived, they were nothing special. The fish tacos had just one tiny piece of fish and the lobster tacos were way to salty and tasteless at the same time. The black garlic guacamole was good but nothing special and we didn't taste any of the black garlic.
