Kajiken Ramen in Midtown is a hidden gem worth exploring for its standout dish, the abura soba. The Niku Miso ramen is a must-try, featuring slow-cooked pork, minced miso pork, a poached egg, chives, scallions, and nori. Adding extra toppings like kimchi or tamago can elevate the experience. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff, though tables can be close together. The Tonkotsu ramen and Chasu don are also recommended, with condiments available to customize flavors. Despite being busy, the servers ensure a pleasant dining experience, making Kajiken a delightful spot for dry noodles and appetizers in NYC. The ramen is amazing, with the roasted beef dry noodle with yogurt being an interesting and surprisingly delicious combination. Food was great, they don't skimp on flavor, and the portion is decent. The waitstaff are wonderful, very kind and helpful. It's a good place for solo lunch, not rowdy at all. Kajiken Ramen is a great place to come, especially in the winter, with good price value for the food. The sukiyaki and karaage are also recommended. Everyone was nice and attentive. The ambiance is fun and bright with lots of Japanese lanterns etc., making it a great casual spot to catch up with a friend or friends.
