I really wanted to like this place. The vibe is great and the service is absoutely fantastic.
I am not sure if they had an off night but the lechon was overcooked and over salted, barely any flavor. The rice was undercooked as well. A good lechon is moist and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside if it's done right but this was a hot mess all around. The mango salad was okay but nothing noteworthy. I tend to favor a sweet mango and but let me at least taste the mango. Given the area and price point, I expected better.

A must dining stop in NYC, the pork lechon is delicious. Highly recommend. Our first time eating this style of food & the staff were very helpful with meal & beverage suggestions. Would love to return but won’t have time on this trip.

Absolutely delicious! Had the ube longganisa sliders, bbq skewers, and lechon. Everything was flavorful, juicy (meats), and cooked perfectly. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommend.

We ordered kare-kare, sliders and inasal rice. Kare-kare was made of crispy pork skin, pork, bok choy, and peanut sauce. It was extremely rich at the end.
We saw high rating on google review and was excited to try the restaurant. Unfortunately, there was minimal service during our meal.

Amazing food and service. Would recommend anyone who loves food, especially Filipino food to visit Kalye.
My wife is Filipino and is a fabulous home cook and I have enjoyed home cooked Filipino for the last 19 years. For my wife to say this was some of the best food she has tasted is very high praise.
Also loved the service as well and big thanks to Rich for making us feel so welcome and top class service.
Cannot sing praises enough and please go visit and enjoy the food.
Recommend Ube Sliders, Club 85 and Halo Halo.

Servers were welcoming and responsive. Food was very good, especially the pork sisig and skewers. Found myself longing for garlic fried rice, and my husband was wondering why Chinese beer was served instead of San Miguel. But all in all, would definitely come back to this little gem of a place.

Was staying for a trip in LES and saw this place. Was passing by for a quick snack.

I loved the sisig puff appetizer it was delicious. Never have seen this - it is a creative way of eating sisig other than usually eating it with rice!

Authentic Filipino flavors. The owner was nice and friendly!

AMAZINGGG food and such great service!! We had the pork lechon, lumpia, and mango salad and wowww it was stunning. And we had so much fun joking around with our server throughout the meal, good vibes and good food! They’re opening a new location a few blocks away that will be 4x the size with a live band, karaoke, a full bar, AND their full menu— cannot wait to check it out at the end of the month!

The Ube sliders were light and fresh. The halo-halo is a good choice if you enjoy a dessert with plenty of ice, beans, and jello. The pork dish with string beans, eggplant, and bok choy was also tasty. Service is great and bathroom was clean but the restaurant space is a bit on the small side.

This is not an authentic Filipino restaurant at all (I wouldn’t even call this a Filipino restaurant). We came here based on the good reviews, but clearly none of them were left by those familiar with Filipino cuisine. If you’re Filipino, stay away!

Adobo ribs: adobo is a dish traditionally slow cooked in soy sauce and vinegar. Here however it tasted more like buffalo sauce than anything. It’s way too salty and sour - clearly vinegar was added towards the end of the cooking process and had no time to evaporate.

Kare-kare: for a dish that’s supposed to be peanut based, this dish had no peanut taste.

Chicken inasal: I don’t even know what to say about this one. It tasted like regular chicken wings you can get from a pub.

Sisig: Way too salty and lacking crunchiness because it was missing crunchy ingredients like chicken liver

All in all, none of the dishes tasted even remotely close to Filipino cuisine. We were not surprised to find out that this establishment was NOT Filipino owned and had NO FILIPINO COOK! It was a confusing experience, as we couldn’t understand what we were eating - where was the Filipino food?

Despite the good service, to call this a Filipino restaurant would be absolute cultural appropriation!
