Sure, the food is good for the price, but the Japanese waitress who served me during the slowest hours (around 3 PM) had such a bad attitude when I asked a few very basic questions about the special. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that has nothing to do with a paying customer, especially one who tipped generously to support the business anyway. It felt super unprofessional and disappointing, particularly because I’ve been coming here for more than a decade. The guys are usually nice and courteous, so this experience really stood out in a negative way.

This is probably my favorite Japanese restaurant in NYC. The location and cozy atmosphere of the space make it a secret gem. Outstanding food & fantastic service.

Nice sized cuts with variety that impressed
Fresh food. Both three amigos and kanpachi chrashis were tasty! There is no ton-katsu though (old reviews mention it), so my daughter had to get beef soboro bowl instead. She still loved it and recommended it with two thumbs up!

Visiting NYC, wanted to have some sushi, I stumbled on this restaurant on Google Maps, decide to try it because the reviews rated it 4.5. I had shrimp avocado and spicy tuna roll, and the beef tataki. The sushi was meh, I had better before. But I did enjoy the beef tataki, I would order that again. The service was a little less than average.

Unassuming exterior but bustling indoors during a weekday lunch. Walk-ins only and counter seating is available. Service is okay. Prices are okay. Food and service is more like 4.5 stars.
Hokkaido uni bowl - quite pricey at $45, uni is quite small but tastes heavenly along with the very vinegared rice. I chose salmon and squid for the 2 choices of other fish. Salmon is okay, not the freshest. Squid is also okay. Wish there was more wasabi given.
Fluke bowl - quite good value for money at $27 and you can choose 2 other kinds of fish.

Our go to sushi spot, it’s slightly pricier but the quality is fantastic for the price. Hole in the wall kind of place, I selfishly hope it stays unknown because it’s such a great find.
