Kappo Masa is a consistently beautiful, graceful, delicious, delightful, vegetarian-friendly, pescartarian-delightful, gem. My best friend and I dined there, on the early-side, mid-week, before a show. The service was welcoming and efficient from start to finish. It was Michelin-star quality without the stuffiness and price-point. That includes the food. From the excellent, Not-too-sweet, interesting mocktails, to the nearly candied miso cod, to the melt in your mouth hamachi sashimi.. it was all sublime. Bravo! We shall return.

Food quality is low. SO many good sushi in NYC. This is definitely not a good one. NO ambience, no should. No Japanese in sight at this establishment. Overpriced. Don't go, you will be disappointed.

good place to go if you aRE IN NEIGHBORHOOD or staying at the carlyle across the street or the mark, a block away

The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. There are many interesting things on the menu. We had the spicy tomato and shrimp pasta which is completely gluten free and quite delicious. The sushi and sashimi we tried was all excellent as well. Although the food is pricey, the experience was worth it.

This was a very nice dining experience, but the prices they charge are just silly. High-quality sushi is easier to find in the city these days, and the premiums they charge are unjustified. Would be happy to go back if their pricing were more in line with their competition.

Saw the biggest roach in my life climb up the wall here. Sorry I wasn't classy enough to appreciate the wildlife.

Impeccable service and amazing omakase experience. With unique, artfully prepared and presented sushi paired with the best sake. It was a wonderful “lunch for one” at the counter and a perfect meal.

Booking is extremely hard. They asked you to wait over half an hour. They moved your booking half an hour early and telling you if you don't take it the next one is two hours away. Or you sit at sushi bar. I booked for three and specially instructed for a table Of three. Waitress is very inpatient. Finally she just gave up on us. Another one took over. For this type of service, and the price, I totally not want to go back again. Food is good, portion is small. We three, no drinks and wine, spent close to $1000, not even full. Two middle aged ladies and a guy. If you are going for appetizer, and don't care about their service, you can go. Otherwise, Manhattan has much better places to spend your money.

Best Omakase I have ever had. I have had the privilege of Omakase in the biggest cities in the US and abroad, and the food, service, sake selection, and ambiance was top rate. I have a new favorite and will be back many times when I visit NYC.

Good food, place was dead though (friday 6 til 8pm). 3 tables in the entire restaurant occupied - and they placed all 3 tables next to each other (1 foot between tables). It was really odd to be in a complete empty restaurant with two other groups dining right on top of you, hearing your convos etc. Fun listening to other peoples problems tho

You get what you pay for - for sure at this very upscale sushi establishment. We sat at the sushi bar which is a large curved counter allowing for easy conversation. The Omakase was the way to go here where every course was fresh and spectacular

The entire experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. This was our second Omakase experience and both times exceeded expectations.

Dreamy place, such kind and attentive service, incredible vibe due to the burning incense, low lighting, thoughtful decor, and the ingredients are out of this world. Don’t skip out on the tuna carpaccio, their sushi rolls, or dessert, they have to die for fresh fruit! I had a champagne mango I will be thinking of for some time now.
