We walked in late after a nearby show with no reservation and were seated within minutes!! We tried the famous butter chicken and the bone marrow biryani—both were absolutely delicious “chef’s kiss” and highly recommend!! For dessert, we had the chai cake, but I’d suggest skipping it—underwhelming and definitely not worth the $20 price tag. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was generally warm and welcoming, especially given the late hour. Unfortunately, our experience was dampened by our waitress, who never introduced herself, responded to menu questions with visible annoyance, and repeatedly reminded us (with eye rolls to match) that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. Not the kind of service you’d expect from a place like this. If not for the poor service, this would’ve been an easy 5-star experience. Still, I’d go back for the food alone and the ambiance!
Kebab aur Sharab has become one of my go-to spots, and I’ve never left disappointed. I’m so happy to have this place in my neighborhood. It’s consistently delicious and welcoming.
This time, I sat at the bar since I didn’t have a reservation, and the bartender was incredibly kind and informative. Started with the Aslam Butter Chicken Tikka, which is always a favorite — tender, smoky, and coated in rich buttery spices. The seasonal fried fish was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the fresh chutney.
For the main, we had their famous butter chicken with roti — still the best butter chicken I’ve had in NYC. The flavors are bold and comforting, and everything is always beautifully done. I’ll definitely be back again soon.
Definitely not your typical Indian food, it has a twist/fusiony.
We thought the lamb chops were pretty good and the butter chicken was unique.
Found it courtesy of precision multiple ChatGPT prompts, ended up finding a place with beautiful Butter Chicken and Lamb chops.
Pros: Good butter chicken, Paneer curry, great portions of the aforementioned dishes plus good Naan portion sizes. Fast service times
Cons: Limited starter portion sizes.
All in all well recommended North Indian styled restaurant, a little on the pricey side!
Food was delicious and the portions large. The music unfortunately sucked: modern Hindi pop garbage.
Must go! It's pricey but well worth it. Look, I could say a lot of nice things. But to cut it short,
just go.
You will not be disappointed!
Wonderful. fantastic, stupendous. This is what real authentic Indian food is about.
Lamb chops changed my life!
Smoked Old Monk rum on the menu, old school owner for sure. Desi folk, know what I mean.
A Hidden Gem in NYC - Truly Unforgettable!
Dining at Kabab aur Sharab was a memorable and joyful experience. From the moment I walked in, the energy was warm and welcoming. The decor is beautifully designed and deeply authentic to the culture, creating an atmosphere that feels both inviting and transportive.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was packed with bold, layered flavors and presented with so much care. I sampled several menu items, and each one was a standout- thoughtfully spiced, perfectly balanced, and incredibly satisfying. It's the kind of meal you think about long after the last bite.
One of the highlights of the evening was witnessing a few birthday celebrations. The staff made each one feel special, and the happiness in the room was contagious. There's a genuine sense of community here that makes the experience even more meaningful.
I you're in New York City and looking for an unforgettable meal, Kebab aur Shrab should be at the top of your list. With its Michelin recognition and truly inspired cuisine, it's more than a restaurant-it's a celebration of culture, flavor and hospitality.
I highly recommend both of the butter chicken dishes (I had to take an extra order to go, as I knew I would be craving more). I can't wait to return.
everything was amazing especially the lamb chops
also got the baby goat, aloo tikki, butter chicken, spicy green chicken, paneer tikka masala, naan/laccha paratha, mango lychee lassi
Kebab aur Sharab is more than just a name, it's an extraordinary experience that embodies a rich culture, boasting an array of delectable, authentic dishes that tantalize your taste buds, and an exquisite atmosphere that's simply captivating. I was privileged to indulge in many of the incredible culinary delights and witness joyous birthday celebrations that electrified the room. This is a transcendent journey, a true destination that whisks you away to a world beyond the confines of New York City, where every moment is a testament to the power of culinary excellence, leaving you feeling uplifted, inspired, and utterly magnificent as if you've embarked on a life-changing adventure. Let's not forget, this is a Michelin-rated restaurant! Bravo Chef Salil Mehta and partner
Livleen Singh.
We celebrated a milestone birthday here with family and could not have had a better experience! We tried the butter chicken kabobs, paneer kabobs, fish curry, eggplant and dal makhani. The presentation was amazing and the taste even more so! The service was impeccable. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.

Staff stole my headphones. As we were the last person in the restaurant and I contacted them next day, they kept hanging up on me as the headphone pinged in queens.
Beware not only the food is bad. They also steal your stuff.

Gorgeous. Don't be fooled by the name, it's not a kebab-shop.

We didn’t make reservations so didn’t get a table…but that was in our favor! We got seats at the bar where Z made the most delicious and balanced cocktails. Paired with all the yummy dishes, our experience was 5 star perfect.
