The employee is very polite but unfortunately we didn't like the cake. We bought the original one and it tasted only the egg and a bit sweet and sadly we had to throw it all away.its sad that they don't sale smaller cakes for people to taste it.
So deliciousšļ¼Rich cheese aroma, delicate taste melts in your mouthļ¼It's the best light cheesecake I've ever had in New Yorkļ¼will keep coming back to try other flavors.

Took a quick visit to China town after so many years. Stopped by this bakery after reading the reviews and took a chance. I have to say no regrets after buying the ube cheesecake, original cheesecake and the green tea fancy cheesecake. I was impressed with the food and quality. The first 2 are not your average cheesecake both were delicious and melts in your mouth . However what impressed me the most was the green tea cheesecake absolutely delicious and creamy. If youāre looking to try a different kinda of cheesecake this is the place. Absolutely a must!!!!!
However your looking for your average, anyone can make or think and overly sweet than this is not your place.
The only down side it is a small place.

Keki Modern Cakes is a really nice place, ideal for a sweet break, even if unfortunately it doesn't offer the possibility of consuming on site. We tried the Japanese cheesecake, or cake if you prefer, and we were really satisfied. The classic version, which costs $16, is incredibly good, soft and light, just as you expect from a Japanese cheesecake. The size, although not huge, is perfect for 2-4 people who want to enjoy it without overdoing it. In any case, the flavor more than makes up for the quantity. Must try!

Change to slices. Thatās my first problem. So I buy a whole cheesecake. Itās dry, not fluffy & had no ube flavor it tasted like they used dye & called it ube. I had high hopes for the price it really was disappointing. Iāve been back and got a cream puff thatās how they got 3 stars.

My first time trying Keki's original and I know I will be dreaming about this cake until I get back to NYC again. The smell as soon as you walk in gives you a clue as to how amazing these cakes are! They have this texture almost like a butter cake but then melt in your mouth like a cheese cake š

Keki Modern Cakes is a pastry shop located in NYC's Chinatown specializing in Japanese baked goods such as cheesecakes.
The staff were quite friendly and were continuously working on making the cake orders, as we watched them make cheesecakes from the window. They were quick to package up any orders, and informed us of any delays or products they no longer had in stock.
We got the Castella cake. It was light and fluffy, with a decent portion for its price. Even after a few days it maintained its light and fluffy consistency, making it a good product for traveling far distances. It wasn't too sweet, and had a good flavor even though it was like biting into air because of how soft and fluffy it was.
Overall, a great baked goods shop to try out in the Chinatown area.

Bought a few cream puffs and one of the cheesecakes. The cream puffs were fine. Nicely textured but way too much filling. The cheesecake I felt like was pretty dry and, opposite of the cream puffs, without enough creaminess. Pretty expensive and would probably skip next time.
Wow, much more tasty than I thought. I bought a box of a pair of Ube, Cookies and Cream and Pistachio since it was $10 for 3. Thought they were much tastier than Papa Beardās cream puffs. Would visit again. Worker also was quick and informed me to put in fridge after 3 hours if not finished.
