Always visited this store whenever I visited New York! They served authentic matcha and I absolutely loved shirakawa matcha they have! Highly recommended!
have been here twice and been kinda disappointed twice. i thought it was just fine and also its def a grab and go place
This small stand is a must-try for matcha lovers. A traditional matcha spot, they offer three kinds of matcha. Based on your preferences you can go for deeper, nuttier flavors or floral and lighter flavors.
I tried their hukuju matcha latte with soy milk and loved it. It comes unsweetened but they have simple syrup for you on the side, if you wish to sweeten your matcha. Beautiful color, well-balanced, and earthy. Definitely recommend if you're looking to try some traditional matcha!
Visited here with my husband and extended family. I generally hate blending high quality matcha with things like the coconut mandarin drink does but curiosity got the better of me. It was refreshing but I found the citrus to be a bit too strong for the matcha. On the other hand the soba cha is perfect. Hot. Cold. Anytime of day, it's delicious. I convinced my aunt to get the hojicha and she highly enjoyed it as did my cousins who got gyokuro and the straight shot on ice. Mr. Mangan, well done for a to go shop.
Excellent tea pourings with more than just Matcha! (Don't worry, they still have plenty of that, too). Absolutely recommended!
for being a dedicated matcha spot, they don’t really make the matcha well. tastes a little burnt like the water was too hot and it was chunky and not mixed well :/ super disappointing bc most kettl’s are good
I got the hukuju latte with oat milk. If you like that nutty and cacao flavor it would be perfect but it was alright for me. I definitely will come back to try the suiteki latte
I think this is one of the places that sells genuine, high-quality drinks.
I usually get the matcha latte but decided to get the hojicha latte for once and I'm glad I did! You can definitely taste the hojicha and I loved how deep and rich it was! The drinks might be a little pricey but I overall like their drinks and how friendly the staff was.
Keep in mind they don't really have any seating!
Delicious matcha latte and hojicha latte. Staff were friendly and informative. Worth the trip
Kettl Tea on the Bowery used to be great and once set the standard of excellence for matcha in New York. This visit was a disappointment. The matcha was not good. It lacked the vivid green color and smooth creamy body that once defined their cups. The flavor was dull and slightly bitter without the balanced umami that comes from truly fresh ceremonial grade powder. The texture was grainy which points to poor sifting and imprecise water temperature. It feels as though they have moved away from the exceptional sourcing and precision that made them special. In a city where ceremonial grade matcha is already becoming harder to find this is a loss.

Disappointing low quality matcha that looks good in an instagram post but has no real flavor or refinement.
If you’re a matcha enthusiast, you’ll love the quality and variety of their matcha. They don’t fool you with all different fruity variations or visuals. They are as good as matcha as it is. The only downside is that they don’t have a seat, but with the quality, it is totally okay.
match was lacking in flavor and very overpriced given the quality
Latte and sparkling matcha are great. If you like sweet & milky matcha drinks, this isn’t for you. You really taste the full robust flavours of the matcha.
Kettl probably has the best matcha in the U.S. Every tea they have is excellent and decadent. You can taste the quality in every sip. The bowery location falls a bit flat, though. They took away the only seating area they had and I sometimes have had my matcha very clumpy at the bottom.
