It’s shocking how one visit can completely change the perception of a place, but I feel compelled to write this review.
I visited on Sunday evening and had an excellent experience-great service, waffle sweet fries, sliders and seamless Apple Pay. Nothing crazy, but I was so impressed to have such a nice place nearby that I even recommended the place to colleagues. As a concierge at a luxury property nearby, that says a lot.
Unfortunately, my lunch visit today was the opposite. I was told waffle fries haven’t been available “for a year,” making me feel as if I was being accused of lying-despite having had them days earlier. The staff openly discussed this in front of me, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional.
I was also told Apple Pay was not accepted, even though I had used it on Sunday. At that point, one of the bartenders began questioning me about how the bartender from Sunday “looked,” which was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. (saying his name) would “get in trouble,” again in front of me. Ironically, they did process Apple Pay in the end, with a sarcastic comment.
Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. I truly hope the bartender from Sunday faces no consequences-he provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the inconsistency and attitude during my lunch visit were deeply disappointing.
I’m not expecting Forbes-level service at a bar, but basic professionalism, respect, and mature behaviour should be standard.

Rarely go to the effort of leave a review let alone a bad one. But this I have to do. Incredibly rude blonde Irish barwoman. Cannot iterate strongly enough how shocked we were at her manner. We had drank in several Irish bars in Manhattan over the Christmas, great festive atmospheres. But this woman was completely the opposite vibe. Wholeheartedly regret walking into the Killarney Rose. How can one experience such negativity from one short in duration interaction. We paid for and drank our drink and left immediately. Whoever owns this bar, know this lady is poorly representing your business.
There were two female bartenders with the younger of the being extremely rude, for no reason. I felt slighted, and unwelcomed at that establishment and vowed to NEVER put foot in that place again. On a scale from 1-10, I will rate them 1. I did not see a reason to tip the staff at that business. I left earlier than expected.

Stopped in here the other night and ended up having a way better time than expected. Me and my people were just talking, and outta nowhere the owner, John, rolled up on us. Real down to earth dude, actually out on the floor talking to folks instead of hiding in the back like most owners.
He chopped it up with us for a minute, then surprised us with free drinks and shots just off the strength of the conversation. You don’t get that kind of hospitality everywhere, especially in NYC. The place itself has a chill atmosphere, good energy, and you can tell John really cares about the experience.
Only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is because nothing’s perfect but this spot comes close. Definitely worth pulling up, and the owner alone makes the experience stand out.

From the minute we sat down, Anthony took good care of us. He worked the bar, took our order, and brought our food. He was super friendly and helpful. Even in the south, they could take a lesson from this New Yorker on hospitality. Now on to the food. We ordered the fish and chips and shepherds pie. Both were excellent. The gravy in the shepherds pie was very rich and flavorful. The pub battered cod was outstanding and honestly, the fries were even great. Just a warning, no parking and you have to walk under scaffolds ( in August 2025) to get here. Great tavern in the financial district. Highly recommended.

Super rude bartender. Save your money and go elsewhere the vibe isn’t all that either and drinks are average. Was waiting for a friend here and getting a drink was impossible. It wasn’t even busy. And then the bartender was so rude.

Horrible service by old lady at bar. She needs to be fired, no customer service training at all.
