I have returned to Kosaka multiple times now, which tells you something. I am not, by nature, a repeater. Life is short and the world is full of places that want your money and your attention, most of them undeserving of either.
But Kosaka understands what so few do: that a meal is a constructed thing, like a novel. It must have architecture. Rhythm. Restraint. The space between what is said and what is withheld.

I eat omakase a lot and I’m really starting to believe that it’s not necessary to pay over 300 in nyc because of the options available. Although Kosaka comes in just u see 300 its a good use case. Highlight ⭐️: Seabass/uni/scallop/aji nigiris (creamy), the kombu-based snap pea shiitake soup (gives you warming, cozy, fuzzy feelings), apple ume sorbet with green apple tea (the flavor combo and the mix of coldness and hot are soothing)
Cleanliness 🚽: 4/5
💰: ~$200-$300 per person (over-priced for the quality of food received🥲)
