I eat omakase a lot and I’m really starting to believe that it’s not necessary to pay over 300 in nyc because of the options available. Although Kosaka comes in just u see 300 its a good use case. Can one sushiya be 3x better than the avg 100 option available? Possible, but it’s really difficult. Is that o-toro nigiri 3x better than any other place? Unlikely. Kosaka is a Mich star omakase place in the village. There are many like it but this one is well appointed and the tables are spaced far enough from each other to give conversational privacy. The fish was delish and the service was elegant. Good sake list.
My second time for omakase at Kosaka. It was exceptional the first time. It was exceptional this second time. Delicious, creative omakase. Attentive service. Price reasonable considering the quality of what is being served. Michelin star deserved
