Only in New York city can you find a place where street food from another country taste the same. This Sri Lankan eatery serves up awesome kottu, a Sri Lankan anytime awesome chopped delight from the streets of Colombo, made just like it would be be back in Lanka. Spice levels are authentic, so order wisely. I personally enjoyed my heat at max, that was soothed by the pineapple beer that paired perfectly with my spicy prawn kottu with a fried egg Sunday brunch.

Yummy food. The chicken and shrimp kothu were super tasty. Fills you up fast. Would definitely get take-out from here when I want to just have some srilnkan food at home and chill. Glad I don't live nearby. Dangerous!

Mind-blastingly good food. I almost don't want to write this review, because this is a very small space, and I'm concerned about it being too crowded the next time I want it!

As a Sri Lankan I Visited the place today thinking it was a restaurant but it's a take venue with just 2 seating tables. Kottu was average at best (reviewed as a Sri Lankan). Plus it was not made with authentic Kottu roti either. Place is decent for a take a take out night. When in NYC, Go to Sigiri for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and much better sit down meal experience

Solid $12 lunch special. There was the option to customize spice level, solving the problem of overly spicy food that tends to plague Sri Lankan restaurants.

This place used to be great a couple of years ago. The Kotthu used to be something to remember. But lately this place has lost its edge. The Hoppers are still the same and yummy.

Good short eats , Sri Lankan stout even , kottu was strictly ok ! They had vatalapam which was ok too. I will return for the short eats !
SO good. The deviled beef is the best on the menu. I've only ever had homemade Sri Lankan food so I was really excited to find this place. There aren't a ton of options on the menu but all of the options are delicious so you really can't go wrong.

I would eat here all the time if I lived nearby. Fitting right into the current trend of food bowls, Kottu offers well, kottus (aka kothu roti), Sri Lankan bowls of deliciousness - pieces of godamba roti (Sri Lankan flatbread), mixed with chopped veggies, and meats. The jack fruit bowl, the special when I arrived, was complex, had just the right amount of spice (level 3), and was very filling. You can get a lightly fried egg on top of any bowl - I'd recommend that too. The lentil fritters were also good (with a creamy and tangy sauce), but the bowls are large enough that you don't need any sides. Vibe is hipster/casual. Seating is a bit cramped, but it's worth it.

Tried this place tonight. I think we were served by the owner. Its a small cafe kinda restaurant with a seating for approximately 10 people. We didn't have a reservation but we were quickly seated. We had an infant with us , and they were accomodating . Provided a high chair and also made us sit in the warmest area of the restaurant. Customer service was excellent. Now about food We ordered tomato soup (4/5) was too sour for my tastebuds. Ordered chicken kuttu, and freshwater fish. They were dry . I have tried sri lankan food before, so 4 stars for food.

The food was ok, not impressed. From the reviews i decided to come try this place and since i work a few minutes away i decided to stop by to get their lunch special. And the food was just ehhh ok. Not a place i would be coming back for lunch, and the girl at the register was not very friendly either.
