Very patient service, especially with the rude customer in front of me. Very professional and attentive and helped packed my drinks even when they were busy.

When I first walked in as a grumpy New Yorker, I was insulted by how welcoming the employees are. The coffee is not watered down and I am upset that the floors are not sticky. As a local I expected worse. Any a persons who drinks coffee, you should come here. The manger even gave me a warm treat. What’s next, free parking? Five stars.

I used to enjoy this coffee shop. The baristas were once very welcoming. I used to enjoy sitting here doing work on my computer or spending time with friends. Cute spot and decent chai. However sometime in 2024 I began to notice frequent change overs in staffing. This all seemed to coincide when the male barista/manager in the beanie began here. Since then, I’ve notice the vibe change here dramatically. What used to be a welcoming coffee shop became a spot I’d avoid. I have stopped in very infrequently since this change and only ever when I’ve had a guest from out of town with me who was desperate for a non-Starbucks cup of coffee. And honestly each of my guests all told me we didn’t have to go back there. They would prefer to wait for a coffee until getting to midtown because they felt uncomfortable at Kuro Kirin after experiencing the creepy stares and rude interactions from the man in the beanie.

Sour grapes barista and watery leftover coffee, sorry, but you need to re-evaluate
Neighborhood treasure. Excellent coffee and one of those rare cafes that actually serves beverages in a ceramic cup if you’re staying. :-)

Bitter, undrinkable, coffee
Left wondering, on a Sunday after 4pm, IF there was adult supervision, would I be given the time of day to place an order?
I've gotten baked goods from there through the Too Good To Go app. I've allay ordered iced espresso and croissant. The pastries are delicious. The espresso was ok. Tasted a little like burnt caramel

The guy working there is stoned, super rude, and unwelcoming. Used to be a good spot.

I originally had written a glowing review of this place. But something has changed in the service. The staff used to be cordial and friendly. Last time I came here the barista was super mean and gave me an attitude. Another time the barista was cleaning the bathroom and gave my wife an attitude when she politely asked when he was going to be done. Truly sad to see a great place go down in service.

Not allowing customers to use the bathroom at a coffee shop is crazy

I’d like to echo the voices of the inwood community who have had troubling experiences at this coffee shop. I enjoy the lattes very much and often stopped by on my way to the train but will no longer be doing so after an extremely rude and unprompted encounter with the male barista (often wears a beanie). When made aware of the interaction, the owner was equally unfriendly and made it clear that she holds no value for customer service. It’s a shame since I was eager to cultivate a friendly community environment, but I will no longer be spending my money or time at this establishment.

Barista with a black beanie (it’s always on) was extremely rude to my wife. Confronted him, he gaslit me. Wrote an email to the owner, she gaslit me too. Don’t support these people!👎🏻

Be ready to be overcharged.
5oz Flat White goes for $6.
Their menu lists the smallest size at 8oz. However, their Flat White comes in a smaller 6oz cup (not listed in their menu) and its not even full its more like 4 to 5oz.
Customer Service is lacking…. Ordered a croissant with the Flat White too and was just placed in a paper bag, I had to ask if they can warm up for me, they didn’t even ask if I wanted warm or not.
When I inquired about the size of the Flat White the male barista said thats the size for the flat white and when I complained that the 6oz is not even listed there all I got was an “oookaay” with an attitude.
