I had been wanting to try this restaurant, and the other day I went shopping at Saks, so I decided to stop by for lunch but it was kind of disappointing.

The restaurant is definitely overpriced for what it is. The food was just okay, and the service wasn’t good at all. We kept trying to get our waiter’s attention, but they were completely inattentive.

First and last time for me, unfortunately.
The atmosphere is cute though.

I had an unforgettable experience at L’Avenue. The food was not only visually stunning but absolutely delicious—each dish felt like a carefully crafted work of art. What truly elevated the evening, though, was the exceptional service. In a setting where the ambiance and overall dining experience are already a solid 10/10, Mirko went above and beyond to make our visit truly special.

The Miso Salmon and Tom Yum Chilean Seabass were bursting with flavor—every bite was a standout. I don’t usually have a sweet tooth, but dessert completely won me over. La Pavlova was my personal favorite for its taste, while the Saks S’mores offered a playful and memorable tableside presentation.

L’Avenue is more than just a meal—it’s a full sensory experience, and thanks to Mirko and the entire team, it’s one I can’t wait to relive.

The service was amazing.

We made a reservation for 6 people on a Wednesday for lunch. When we arrived our table was ready and we didn’t have to wait.

The atmosphere was ok; I wish it was more quiet but the location plays a big part.
The decor is very warming and welcoming. It gives the idea of being on a family dining room with open floors to the living area.

Once we were seated, a server came right away to offer us water. Then, when the rest of the party arrived they let us settled in.
The servers were very nice and took their time taking our orders without rushing us.

All our food came at the same time and they had it perfect. I ordered the Morel Rigatoni and I was amazed by how delicious it was. They surprised us with some sides on the house and later with 3 desserts on the house too.

They went above and beyond.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing place . The atmosphere is perfect. A lot of natural light and the staff is amazing. The wine selection by Moro is really qualitative.

Great location, excellent food, and outstanding service. I had a lunch meeting here, and everything was delicious. The beef tartare was a standout—highly recommended.

This is a place to go for a drink at the lively bar! It’s also has a great location across from Rockefeller Center inside Saks. The food, however, at least on the occasion of my visit, was disappointing. Expensive, and not terrible, but I expected at least a little more effort. The grilled vegetables were served cold with burrata, and you could get better at a Whole Foods buffet. When I eat in any restaurant, and doubly if it’s expensive, I expect all my food to be cooked to order. A Thai shrimp dish had to be sent back, as the fish tasted less than fresh, and contained nothing else. A lobster pasta dish wasn’t bad, but again, it tested like something. I made at home, then reheated a day later. I doubt the pasta was cooked fresh. The best part of the meal was the warm roll with French butter! If I go back I’ll have a drink and some French fries.

Great hidden spot in midtown. It can get a little noisy because of the enclosed space, but it’s a real gem.

Be sure to have the smores and french fries

Went here for to celebrate two friends birthdays. We had an awesome time. The atmosphere was luxury and demure. And the service was top tier. The ginger shot was incredible. Food was just okay. I will definitely visit again.

Lovely atmosphere and decor. Big spacious bar and dining room. Some tables overlook 5th Avenue. Staff was lovely. Cocktail was delicious. Food was perfectly prepared and very flavorful (curry vegetables). There is only one reason I gave 4 rather than 5 stars….. the bread and butter.
I requested some prior to my meal. What was placed before me was worthy of no greater than a NJ diner. The were two small dinner rolls that were both so stale I literally could not tear a piece off of one of them and it was just a hard crust; they were both so hard I was concerned I might break a tooth. And then there was the butter, one pad of tasteless foil wrapped butter-like spread. I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to have delicious, fresh bread/rolls and high quality salted butter serviced in an individual chilled dish while the butter is still easily spreadable. Unwrapping foiled wrapped butter results in greasy finger tips, not the experience I would choose for a lovely afternoon lunch date. Enough about my complaint, I say this in hopes the management/chef will see this and have an epiphany about the error of their ways.
So to recap…. A beautiful experience and I do recommend with one caveat. Hopefully I will find fresh bread and exquisite butter the next time I dine at L’Avenue at Saks.

Vegetarian options: The only vegetarian option I recall is the curry vegetables but they were quite delicious

Kid-friendliness: Please don’t

Wheelchair accessibility: Seems like it would be very accessible.
