Bad disgusting drinks
Cozy cute and refreshing! Can tell they use fresh ingredients for every drink. Very authentic Vietnamese flavors and perfect for midday date!

When I first scrolled through the reviews, I thought I had found a heart warming, authentic Vietnamese coffee shop during my first visit to NYC. Boy, was I wrong. As 1st gen, I’ve spent my whole life speaking English, Vietnamese, and “Vietlish” because my mom barely speaks English. When I said ‘iced coffee’ in Vietnamese, it felt like I committed some sort of sin for speaking my language? I just was off put by the eye roll from the male cashier. If your workers don’t like people speaking Vietnamese, don’t use Vietnamese words on your menu, and don’t make your whole advertising theme around inclusivity. People need to unravel their subconscious biases.
Now to the coffee .. while their iced coffee doesn’t taste bad, it is NOT authentic. I would not name it southern style Vietnamese iced coffee. The flavor is not as robust. It tastes watered down. I’ve drank ca phe sua da all my life and it’s just not … southern Vietnamese iced coffee. Maybe they should say “inspired” instead? I don’t know.
Overall, while the atmosphere is very pleasant decor-wise, I just don’t think it’s meant to serve Vietnamese people.

Pandan latte is new and interesting
It was one of those aimless afternoons in the East Village when I stumbled upon Lê Phin, tucked quietly along E 10th Street. The kind of spot you might pass without noticing—until the warm, amber glow inside catches your eye and slows your step.

I ordered an iced latte and a chai danish. The latte was straightforward and well-balanced, the kind of drink that doesn’t try to impress yet lands exactly where it should. The chai danish, on the other hand, was a small indulgence—flaky, aromatic, and spiced just enough to feel both familiar and slightly exotic.
Service matched the tone of the place—calm, attentive, and without rush. Stella and Danielle were behind the counter that day, each bringing a gentle warmth to the exchange. It’s a small detail, but in a city where transactions often blur, their quiet attentiveness stood out.

Solid Vietnamese coffee and matcha latte.
Stopped by just before lunch to try a couple of their signature drinks. The café is on the smaller side and was already packed when we arrived. No restrooms, and seating was limited, but we managed to grab a table after a short five-minute wait. Despite the crowd, the drinks came out quickly and were good overall.
Matcha Pandan Latte – I used to associate pandan with dessert-level sweetness, but this matcha latte leaned in the opposite direction. Not sweet at all. I’ve never had pandan on its own, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it showed up mostly as a faintly tart, slightly grit finish. Smooth overall, but not as distinctive as I’d hoped. Actually—after a few more sips, the pandan did settle in as a subtle accent that blended well with the drink’s creamy base, but never really popped. Maybe if we weren’t craving sugar, we would’ve appreciated it more.
Vietnamese Iced Coffee – First sip felt like cracking open one of those canned Korean lattes. Instant sugar rush. But it finished clean on the palate. Definitely one of the better Vietnamese coffees I’ve had in the city. Then again, Viet coffee is naturally straightforward, so I’m not sure how far that praise stretches.
