The food was excellent, as was the service. I can't wait to go back to try the other menu items.

Incredible meal! The pomelo salad was something I have never tried before and would highly recommend. Everything else was delicious as well!

Sadly our Wagyu pho and bun bo hue were barely lukewarm when brought to our table, which took away from the overall taste and experience.

The service was excellent. The food may need more tweaking. The vermicelli was dry and even with the sauce lacked authentic taste. The bun xiao (the egg crepe with shrimp and tofu) shell was sweet but the filling didn't have any taste. The staff did asked us for our feedback and we did inform them. They were very nice and comp us for that dish.

Fun place but almost a little too commercial. Good food although we may not have ordered the right things, ending up with 4 deep fried dishes out of 5. Also a tad too busy and fast for our Christmas dinner. But great concept and beautiful decor.

Wonderful addition to our neighborhood. The vegetarian mushroom bahn mi was amazing, as was the classic brisket pho. See you again soon!

So good the best pho I've ever had. Tastes straight out of Vietnam. Get the chicken wings.

The food was excellent! Just a small note that I reserved a table at 7pm, we ended up seating at 7:30pm. Food came out pretty quickly though. Overall we will defiantly go back.

Disappointing Experience, Undermined by Service and Policy Missteps Our visit was marred by operational issues that made it difficult to relax, starting with the lack of a coat check. This became a genuine concern as staff frequently brushed past our table with plates and drinks, risking a spill on personal belongings. Service was inconsistent and unpolished. While our waiter was pleasant, the hostess was curt, and we experienced a fundamental error: our entrees were delivered before the appetizer plates were cleared. This created a cramped, rushed feeling at the table. The food was equally uneven. The mussels arrived unacceptably cold, though the crab fried rice was generously portioned. The cocktails, unfortunately, were notably weak and lacking in spirit. The most disconcerting incident occurred during payment. The restaurant's policy clearly states that an automatic gratuity applies to parties of six or more. However, as a party of five, we were charged this fee without explanation, directly contradicting their own stated rules. This enforcement of an unwarranted fee was followed by our own decision to add a separate gratuity for our waiter as her service was warm. Given the premium pricing and the expectation set by its reputation, the overall experience fell far short. The combination of service lapses, execution errors, and this contradictory billing practice negates the standards of a true "Bib Gourmand"-caliber establishment. We cannot recommend it in good conscience.

Overall it's a great dining experience. The ambiance was cozy and stylish, with a French bistro style vibe. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The pâté and bone dish stood out with great flavor, the Bánh Xèo was crispy, Wagyu Pho was solid and satisfying. Banh Beo was probably my favorite dish 🤤. Tables are on the smaller side, which adds to the intimate French style feel but may feel a bit tight for some. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

I've been to La Dong multiple times. This time I went, had really bad experience interacting with multiple staff. When we were still working on our food, we were rushed by 3 different staff asking if we're done with our food. Overall, we've been asked that question 10+ times. Really upset about this terrible experience.

Incredible vibes, top-tier service, and absolutely incredible food. Easily one of my top five dining spots in NYC — they'll definitely be seeing me again!

Overall satisfactory food quality we had the crabs fried rice, and steamed fish which were excellent and the pomelo Salad which was disappointing (very sweet because of the brown sugar) and the fresh rolls also disappointed as there was half a shrimp in each Roll so it tasted more like a vegetarian roll not a shrimp roll. Great ambience and service

We had such an amazing time at La Dongs, found this place on my trusted TikTok and it did not disappoint. Located in union square and right next to Lillie's Victorian another really special place to get drinks before dinner. Overall 5 stars!!

I've always been on the lookout for some traditional good Vietnamese food in NYC. I think I've found one of my favorite restaurants in the city. From the decor, to the vibe and of course the delicious food. I was very impressed with the presentation, flavors and variety of drinks and foods. However I am most impressed with the customer service. Particularly I would love to give a shout out to my waiter and bartender Sophia. She was very welcoming and took the time to explain the dishes, best way of eating them.
