From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, it was friendly, delicious, and an overall excellent experience. The waiters and managers took time to tell us about the history of the restaurant and showed us about the various celebrities who have visited -as they were pictures all over the wall signed by well-known actors and musicians throughout the years. The food was perfection. Everything was wonderful. On my next visit to NYC, I will definitely return to La Mela!

Best fettuccine Alfredo anywhere, hands down. The Chianti wine was delicious! The salads, the bread, the meatballs it was all terrific!!
One of my favorite restaurants and go to for Italian food in Little Italy. Been going here for years and never had a bad experience. The atmosphere, food and service are always top notch .
Perfect! Food (family style) is a must! Such a fun atmosphere and the service is top notch.
Owner of restaurant or someone who works there was loud and obnoxious while sitting & visiting with guests. The guests were talking so loud and cursing loudly. All while we were enjoying at 5 pm dinner reservation with our kids , ages 17-10. The big party was extremely annoying & took away from our evening. Food was good, value , good. We won't be back.
This is one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in Little Italy. Every dish we ordered was amazing! I always try and eat here when I visit NYC!
Eddie was so nice!! Can't wait to visit again!

Ironically we asked ChatGPT to pick out an Italian restaurant for us during out stay in NYC- I will now completely trust their recommendations bc La Mela exceeded our expectations. every dish was absolutely incredible- the atmosphere and hospitality made it feel like a truly special night!

We saw good reviews for this place so we decided to give it a shot. We made reservations 3 hours in advance. Reservations are recommended as there is only about 10 tables inside of the main restaurant.
We came inside out of the chilling temps and they sat us under one of the few tables with a heat lamp overhead. As we have our three kids with us, all under 7, this was much appreciated.
The bread that first arrives to the table was fresh and the kids powered through their first basket in no time. We ordered the calamari appetizer, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, kid special order penne with butter, and finished off with the tiramisu. Portion sizes are large so come prepared to eat.
Calamari was lightly battered and delicious. The 2 large meatballs that come with the spaghetti were moist and flavorful. Chicken parmigiana was the star of the night. It’s probably the best chicken parm that my wife and I have ever had. Tiramisu was devoured rather easily between the 5 of us.
Best meal we had during our quick 3 day trip to NYC. Service was quick and attentive. We would definitely eat here again.

La Mela is consistently outstanding. The food is always the best, the service couldn't be better. Take all your friends there, they'll always remember the great time.
Love this Little Italy gem! Very good food. Good portions. Good pricing . Great for family groups.
Exceptional experience. Food was amazing. Service and owner went overboard to make sure all our needs were beyond met. This is a must stop in Little Italy
