We had tamale, tacos, and more, everything was delicious and great portions!!! Definitely one of the best taco places in the city. The guys running the store were very nice and hospitable, the store is very clean. We had a great time eating amazing food! High recommended!
When in the heights, you can’t go to a fast food chain, you need to try a taqueria like La Placita! I was looking for a place to eat after leaving the Columbia U hospital nearby and saw the very cute napkin holder in the front window and was hooked because I just knew whoever picked something so adorable knows more things too like how to serve really great tacos and horchata was great too! Then when I walked in and saw they had orejas and buche, I was in the right place for the less usual cuts!!! I was not disappointed by my choices and next time I look forward to come back to eat this food again after my nearby appointment.

I ordered Huevos Rancheros and a shrimp taco. The Huevos Rancheros are not really Huevos Rancheros. The sauce is a plain tomato sauce. It is not Ranchero salsa. They add chorizo to it, which is odd. The eggs were over cooked. They were fine for what they were - more Huevos a la Mexicana. The shrimp tacos are Baja style. That said, the batter was not overused. I could actually taste the shrimp. The presentation was beautiful. The presentation of the rice and beans was adorable as they are served in a tiny cazuela! The restaurant dining area is cool for such a tiny space.

I’m very judgmental about my tacos (from CA originally) and these (carne + al pastor) were some of the most authentic I’ve had in NY. So good!

I gave this place a chance since it had great reviews. I ordered a quesadilla and a burrito for my GF and I. It tasted gross and came cold to us. But the worst part of it all is that it made us both sick. I didn't sleep at all last night and believe I may have gotten food poisoning from this place.

Great authentic Mexican restaurant. The tortas are massive and delicious! Service is great and staff is very friendly.
Just looking at the ingredients, a burrito from this place has no business being SO GOOD. I was very surprised with how DELICIOUS the food was. Will be back.

Best Mexican restaurant in the heights. The service is always great and the food very tasty and fresh. Chilaquiles verdes and torta with asada always a good choice.
It was okay. The food was fine. I’d say I was a bit disappointed when people who came after my family and I were served first. Our wait time was quite long. But overall a decent place for a quick bite.
