there are very few places in the heights where one can find fine imported specialty foods like french butter, pates, and fresh pasta. Great butcher dept and fish dept all in the space the size of a bodega or perhaps a bit larger. And everything is beautifully presented. And at reasonable prices as opposed to Franks on ft wash which is consistently pricey
I shop here everyday all day
Staff is very friendly and hospitable. They treat their regulars like family. Definitely makes a grocery store worth looking forward to! Support your local businesses!
Incredible. Stuff is super helpful. But No English though!! Food is great and fresh!
fresh food, clean and friendly staff
✌️✌️✌️
Some perishable products (milk, mousse) were bad/ expired (probably not stored at wright tempreture).
It has everything at a good price and excellent quality
This mini market is clean, but there is a problem, the butchers who are a little older are sarcastic, oh they want to deprive me of intelligence, because I usually buy a lot of meat and every time I ask them for the quantity (15 pounds of brisket) for example, they say You are sure that that is what you want and when I ask for thighs with laughter and sarcasm and more chickens, there comes a point that bothers me if I ask for it it is because that is what I want, even the desire to buy there again has been disappearing. And look, I've been going to La Rosa for years.
The attention is good, but the meats are very very expensive!

Good attention and helpful employees
The meat in this place is outstandingly excellent but this is assuming you get the right meat because no one at this establishment speaks English. Several times they have gotten my meat order wrong or I have to translate for customers because the employees do not know what they are saying or asking for. Other times I have observed employees flirting or 2-3 of them chatting with the same female customer. How can you run a business when customers can’t safely ask what they want because no one understands.
Definitely one of the few stores I get fresh produce from in the heights.
Best churrasco & chimichurri in the neighborhood
The store is always well stocked and clean. The butchers are all attentive and knowledgeable, and I have received great information on ways to prepare the meat/fish I have bought. Overall though, the store is just fine for calling itself a specialty market. Many prices are not posted or visible, which is inappropriate. The produce is costly for the neighborhood; they are more aligned with organic/non-GMO prices. However, it is just regular produce in most bodegas or street corners in the surrounding area, and at times, they look like they are about to spoil. The dry goods are not unique either, with the occasional Spanish brand you won't find anywhere else. I think the fishmonger, butcher, and cheese counter are the selling points of the store; however, prices are not posted for each department either, so it's hard to decide what you are planning to purchase. The cheese selection is straightforward, nothing that would be hard to find at other grocery stores, but solid. I have purchased fish from here, and its sound quality; is on the pricey end, especially if you do not know if it was sustainably caught or farm-raised. The meat section is well maintained, and the selection is deep; however, no clear description of the items are organic/non-GMO, grass-fed, and price per lbs. Because of this, it could easily be meats and fish purchased from a general grocery store.
