Friedman's West and La Salle Dumpling have merged into one restaurant.

The good news is that two people craving different cuisines can now dine together at the same place. However, the downside is that those unaware of La Salle Dumpling's presence inside Friedman's may find it nearly impossible to locate the restaurant.

This unique establishment offers two completely distinct cuisines, prepared to perfection. In particular, the xiao long bao and Chinese-style noodles are exceptional. The brunch menu exceeds expectations, and both the coffee and iced tea are outstanding.

This was a little difficult to find as it's part of another restaurant. My brother and I picked up our food, and it was delicious!

As other reviews have noted, this place is inside Friedman's. Stopped by here for lunch today and really enjoyed the pork soup dumplings (fresh, tender, and hot, with a tasty filling). The General Tso chicken was also great, using 2 kinds of peppers (but not over-spiced). Friendly staff and attentive service!

A nice cozy place to get decent Chinese food. The dumplings were a bit bland but tasted good with the dumpling sauce. The chicken lo mein was good but had both yellow and red onions in it ? (the other vegetables were scallions and bok choy). My companion had to put salt and pepper on his beef and broccoli. The food wasn't bad, just seasoned for the masses. However, I will go back for the atmosphere.

Also, the Dumpling Room and Friedman have combined into one restaurant. If you see one, you've found the other as well.

Very bad experience. I ordered to dine inside the restaurant but the waiter handed me my order to-go. When i said i’d dine in, he said, well you wanna open the bag? Not only that, the food is salty as hell. I definitely don’t recommend coming to this place!

Honestly, all that we got was delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered: beef and brocoli (both things were so good, tender and juicy!), dandan noodles (amazing as well), the chef’s special pork dumplings with the vinaigrette (W O W! If you like vinegar you will love this combo!) and the pork and kimchi baos (we loved them!). We also wanted to order fried rice but to be honest the food portions are good sized and the dumpling order brings 6. Would def recommend and come back!

WORST CHINESE FOOD I'VE EVER HAD. OVERPRICED FOR NO GOOD REASON. FOOD TASTED LIKE FOOD OUT OF A TRADER'S JOE'S FROZEN BAG. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I URGE YOU. WE PAID $53 FOR FRIED RICE, GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN, AND DUMPLINGS. THEY TASTED SO BLAND. ONCE AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. THEY MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE THIS PLACE.

I came here with my sister to try the soup dumplings. My serviced was nice but rarely came to the table for water or at the end when we waited for the check. It was a bit overpriced for the dishes flavor/quantity. I ordered the beef with onions and brown rice and it was mostly onions and again a small portion. The decor is weirdly in between ranch/Asian because it shares the space with friedmans american restaurant
