Polished marble, Parisian lighting, and a croissant so flaky it might float away. The pistachio suprême is decadent and architecturally perfect, though the service can verge on aloof. A place for pastry lovers who appreciate refinement over warmth.

“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler”
Pastries of Perfection

“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” , this is Louisiana French Creole for “ let the good times roll”. Every-time I have rolled into Lafayette Bakery, it was a good time. This blissful bakery reminds me of Lafayette city in Louisiana. Why? Just like Lafayette city in Louisiana, Lafayette Bakery is filled with fantastic cuisine. Their staple “ The Supreme”, is one of my absolute favorite sweet treats.

I was first introduced to “The Supreme” this delectable delicacy by Chef Cioe’s wife Christian. I am so grateful for that exposure, because I would have never known of this hidden secret. (Or at least it was a hidden secret to me.) I have tried almost everything in the bakery and a few things from the restaurant. I have never been displeased.

The pistachio flavored Supreme is my favorite! It is always in season and it is simply the best. Also, there is always a new flavor of the month. Each month I am usually impressed. Chef Cioe never ceases to amaze me. He truly displays his passion for pastries with each new creative flavor. It’s like he is making art.

I’ve been here a countless number of times. The customer service is impeccable. The line for “ The Supreme” and pastries can be long at times; however, these treats are worth the wait. Lafayette Bakery is a must visit! Put it on your to-do list if visiting NYC. I promise you won’t be dissatisfied.

Please go visit Chef Cioe the craftsman of croissants! PS, if you are dissatisfied your taste buds need elevating lol

Only went here for the bakery and got the once viral pistachio croissants. They were incredibly good and I can see why everyone rushed over her to get those but now that the hype has sort of died down it was very easy for me to get them during a weekend afternoon (or at least when I went). Will have to try the restaurant another time but I’m more of a bakery person

I used to come here for the food but was really disappointed with the quality of the hot chocolate at least.
Others were fine.

The food is solid, nothing too special, but the serving size is quite small for the price. Was expecting to feel more full after spending such money. Not a bad spot but nothing to write home about.

I have no desire to visit again. One and dons. Unhealthy fillings of pistachio and too much of it. If you really want to try, just share it with one or two people.
For a croissant and coffee, paid $16. Too expensive. They should consider reducing size and price.

The food was okay. I ordered a Farm egg and cheese with bacon but when I got home, it had mustard on it which definitely wasn’t on the menu. I don’t like mustard at all so threw it away. The pastry tasted like it would be nice but I think it was a day old? Tasted a bit stale. Would have been nice otherwise!

Bread and coffee were excellent but eggs were inedible. Service was great but I will not be returning as the food was a huge disappointment

Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the experience at this establishment. While the server was courteous, we endured an excessively long wait of over an hour for a simple burger, oysters, and a croque madame. Furthermore, my friend's egg was prepared incorrectly, resulting in a subpar meal. Despite our extended wait, we were only offered a platter of pastries after we had already begun consuming our food. Additionally, the first bottle of champagne we ordered arrived lukewarm and of poor quality. I understand that the weather was favorable on that day and that the establishment was likely experiencing high demand, but the tables surrounding us were receiving food and service throughout our entire experience, many of which were occupied before we arrived. This situation significantly diminished the enjoyment of our friend gathering. As a result, I would not recommend returning to this establishment and would advise others to seek alternative brunch options in New York City, as there are numerous more suitable establishments available.

Winnie was fantastic. She made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to help at every location of the restaurant

The French Onion soup was exceptional and the burger with frites was outstanding. The atmosphere and service at the bar made for a perfect evening. Don't miss the Pain de Campagne when you start.

Really tasty cookies but definitely overprice, not really worth it.

The cookies and cream supreme was the best pastry I had in a long time! Love it!

I was really disappointed with the pistachio cream — it tasted cheap and wasn’t good at all. For a place like La Fayette, I expected better quality, especially with their prices and reputation. I was also surprised that the coffee was made completely by machine instead of using a manual spoon.
