nice little lady working in the shop but it’s sooooooooooooo expensive. $20 for the italico sandwich with a small soup.

Good taste, fast service, average portion size.Tried an italico, with mortadella salami, provolone cheese. Meats tasted ok, provolone had stronger taste. Was a bit dry, would need to add something to offset that.

Solid salami sandwich. Made very quickly. There are a bunch of different bread/cheese/meat options. Will be back

I wish everyone was as pleasant to do business with as Nancy at Lamazou. I was in need of a lunch catering at our office and my colleague recommend I reach out to Lamazou, Sam's he's enjoyed their sandwiches in the past. I called and Nancy promptly answered the phone. I told her what I was looking for and a few minutes later we had the menu set: she incorporated both my wishes (said colleague wanted the Lamoretti sandwich) and she added her own recommendations. We ended up having a sandwich platter with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well as a selection of salads. I especially liked the couscous salad and the potato salad. The delivery went without a hitch and our group enjoyed the food. My only gripe would be that this is a very plastic-heavy catering. I'm from California, so I feel like we're generally more used to more eco friendly alternatives.

Ordered one pound of Roquefort egg salad and one pound of tuna salad. Both were delicious. Chicken salad next time if I ever make it back.

The best sandwich spot in the neighborhood by far. I'm working on 1st ave n 26st and I'll try multiple sandwich shops. None of them was good enough to make me try again but this place is different. The quality, price, and time to prepare the order are great. I highly recommend this sandwich shop to sandwich lovers!

Went to look at cheeses, but there wasn't much of a selection, and can't see inside as you aren't allowed in. Asked for dry sausage (the ones you find hanging at Italian specialty shops) and he offered us a packaged one that I can find at any supermarket. Overall, not impressed.

Went here after seeing all the great reviews and these sandwiches do not disappoint. I got the #15 with Spanish ham and Manchego cheese. It was simple yet so good. I highly recommend.

We love LAMAZOU! Nancy and Aziz got our kids hooked on great cheese 25 years ago! The whole family stopped by to pick out a 25th birthday celebration meal: caviar, 5 cheeses, 4 meats, pate, baguettes from Balthazar, cookies and dried fruit. The quality and curated selection are the best.

I love Lamazou I feel like it encapsulates the essence of a "hidden gem" here in NYC and it really is part of what makes NYC so great. Nancy and Aziz are this fascinating, well traveled couple that took passion and a love for food and turned it into this lovely European deli where they treat you kindly, but move at a NYC pace. Lamazou has awesome sandwiches (I love #16 with roast beef), soups (they change daily) and side dishes/salads like pasta salad, hummus etc. You can also get deli meats by the slice and while I'm not a cheese aficionado they have so many choices it's absurd. A few things I love: 1. They have so many random, little treats in store. From a peach filled dessert in their freezer to little cookies, biscuits or zucchini soup they do an awesome job populating their deli full of european and unfamiliar delights. 2. I feel like their sandwiches are perfect for a hike, a picnic a travel day or a nice lunch. The wife and I always grab lamazou sandwiches when we're flying and it's the perfect thing to pull out mid flight to quell hunger. It's also just lovely (again) to have for a regular lunch. A few warnings: 1. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is nothing like traditional, American buffalo chicken. It's not bad, but if you want traditional buffalo chicken I would not recommend it. Personally, I'd stick to turkey or roast beef. 2. The bread they use is ciabatta and it's fresh, but I've noticed many say it's quite hard. This is true, I think it's tasty, however. 3. Lamazou has great reviews, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily worth traveling far and wide to try their sandwich like Harold and Kumar did for white castle. Not trying to take away from what they do, but I think some of the negative reviews come from extraordinarily high expectations that aren't met because it's not like their serving filet mignon - it's cheese and sandwiches. I think if you're looking for something to impress however, their catering is (if I had to guess) incredible and their gift baskets seem awesome. Lastly, I agree with Rachel T in that this truly is the kind of place you feel good about your money going to. 5 stars, no question.

Everything was really fresh and filling. It seems like it's locally owned and it felt like they really cared about the sandwiches they were making. It was a little pricey, I've had better sandwiches for cheaper but if you want a good sandwich in the area, it isn't a bad place to visit!

Best sandwich in NYC. Every ingredient is fresh, and the care that goes into constructing each sandwich is apparent. Make sure to get the ciabatta bread and the cornichons on whatever sandwich you order. Additionally, the people working there are the nicest people on the block. It's the kind of place you feel good about your money going to.

I bought everything I needed for a homemade raclette dinner here. Everyone was so nice and as soon as they realized I was making raclette they brought me items I totally forgot I needed. The cured meats were delicious and the raclette was perfect. Will be going back for all my French needs.

I’m sure the sandwiches are nice but we came here to browse the cheeses and be warned - you have to place your order at the door. You CANNOT browse so don’t waste your time going here. Owner should make that clear.
