Hidden gem. Used to live nearby and it’s the real deal. Lots of blue collar spanish-speaking workers go here so you know it’s good. Staff is kind and good-natured. I go back whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Get the pork mofongo!
Good simple Dominican food and friendly service. My favorites are the sancocho and stew chicken meal. There is plenty of seating if you want table service or counter service. They offer takeout, delivery and catering.
I got hooked on mangú after spending a week in the Dominican Republic this past February, so I was hoping to find an authentic Dominican restaurant while visiting New York City, and boy did I find it here! I got a lunch special of roast pork with beans and rice, a side of mangú and a side of tostones - everything was tan sabroso!
