Food is always great as is the service. My favorite in the theater district. Good for any evening, but perfect for a pre-theater meal.
We were eager to try this place as it was recommended by a friend and the reviews stated how amazing the food and service was. We felt rushed to order, as our server came back twice within minutes asking if we were ready. Once we ordered, he did not return to our table again. Artichokes did not live up to the hype. All around underwhelming in comparison to the reviews.
Outstanding service; our glasses were kept full all night and we were checked on often. The lasagna special was very good and the mushroom ravioli was a hidden gem on the menu. We did not care for the crispy flatbread chips; would have preferred more of the bread. The minestrone soup special lacked salt and would have benefited from a touch of acidity. However, food was still overall great for the price and a great pre-show restaurant row dinner! Ambience reminded me nostalgically of dining at my grandparents' house with the wood paneling.
My party and I will be dreaming of our dinners until we come back. The carbonara, the tuna carpaccio, the porcini stuffed ravioli!! All chefs kiss! 10/10 recommend!
We were going to a 7:00 play so wanted an early dinner. Our hotel recommended Lattanzi. OMG! What a find. We started with the shrimp and octopus appetizer. Our grandson had - of course - penne with butter and Parmesan. He said it is the best he’s ever had. Our entree, the porcini ravioli was amazing but filling. For dessert we had vanilla ice cream and chocolate mousse. Both were excellent.
Great service and location to Times Square. Both of us had the branzino which was fabulous. Split the angel hair pasta with basil. Chocolate Mousse for desert. Terrific!
For this trip to NYC, this was the only one that we strongly plan to revisit. For pre-theater dining, the food was solid. We ordered grilled octopus, linguine alle vongole, and lamb chops. We drank two glasses of wine. For dessert we had tiramisu, sorbet, and decaf coffee. Across the board all the food was of consistent good quality. Service was friendly but there were a couple of minor slips, they forgot (but did not charge) an extra side of vegetables we ordered. Also, they did not serve separately each course as we requested when placing our order (i.e. pasta and main course brough together but surprisingly things did not get too cold). Given the usual chaos of pre-theater dining, we are generally tolerant of these slips and such mistakes are server dependent. Given the tasty food, we would likely give Lattanzi another try. Total price for everything listed including tax and 20% tip was about $240. This is about what you'd expect for the location and represents a fair value.
Fabulous menu with helpful waiters. We enjoyed diverse dishes prepared and served with grace and expertise
For the first time in many visits to Lattanzi, we were disappointed in the service. Our waiter didn't know anything about the wine list. We asked what the labels were on the wines. He didn't know. I asked about the Sauvignon Blanc origin and he told me it was a sweet wine (it's not!). When he delivered the wines, he mixed them up and gave each of us the wrong wine. He was also completely absent until it was time to ask if we wanted dessert. Then, he was absent when we needed the check. This is very surprising for service at Lattanzi. It's usually very helpful and attentive.
Enjoyed a pre theater dinner. We were allowed to have a leisurely meal which was prepared so well. All four of us enjoyed every morsel of food on the plate. Highly recommended for good food, nice atmosphere & friendly staff.

Lattanzi never disappoints. We've been coming to them for 20 years, maybe more and we always leave happy. Great place pre-show...they ask what time your show is and get you out without a wisp of worry! And the food is creative and delicious!
Servers were attentive and over accommodating. Food was superb! Great vibe. Will definitely be back.

Warm mozzarella and tomato - delicious. Bread - delicious Cacio E Pepe delicious. Really enjoyed the meal.
Dinner felt rushed. We were seated at 5, had dinner served by 5:20, not even time to finish cocktails we ordered. Food was okay, nothing special.
Good reliable Restaurant Row Italian option. Fish and pasta dishes were very good. Meat options good, though not as inspiring.
