There seemed to be someone at the door who acted like a bouncer. Several mention they seems to decide who gets in or who gets a proper attention. After reading them, I canât help but see a pattern in how certain guests are treated very poorly. As a PoC myself, I was also completely ignored by one of the staff, who acted as if we didnât exist.
I brought a friend visiting from overseas, excited to show them a real NYC outdoor bar experience. Instead, even after saying âhi, excuse meâ several times to the waitress, she casually passed right by us, and we received no response at all, not even eye contact while other guests, mostly majority people, were greeted, seated, and served immediately.
It was humiliating and deeply uncomfortable. What should have been a fun night turned into an embarrassing experience that ruined my friendâs first impression of New York. It was their very first night in NYC. They were shocked by that. Later, I realized it wasnât us who should have felt embarrassed, it was them. Seeing other reviews describing similar treatment makes me think this isnât just a coincidence. Unfortunately, judging by the ownerâs responses to other reviews, often defensive and lacking any real apology, I doubt management will truly investigate this issue. Still, no guest should ever feel invisible or unwelcome based on their skin color. This is definitely not NYC I know.
We ended up going to Kikiâs nearby, and it was a fantastic experience. All the staff were super nice and respectful, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend there! :)

Very poor experience. I came here to meet friends for a birthday party, and our group was being respectful and just trying to enjoy the evening. The person managing the door was unprofessional and seemed to treat certain guests unfairly for no apparent reason. He appeared to be on a power trip, deciding who to let in based on personal bias rather than any clear policy. One of my friends was even told outright, âI donât like you, youâre not coming in,â with no explanation. It completely ruined the night and left us with a very negative impression of the venueâs management. Don't know the guy's name, but he was an African American man with tattoos on his chest and hands and silver bracelets and a zesty voice.

Garbage. If youâre not an influencer or part of whatever VIP fantasy theyâre selling, youâll be treated like invisible trash. The doorman asked me âwhat are you here forâ like I was auditioning for a guest list, then shoved me to the bouncer. Inside, the bartender verbally acknowledged me and then ignored me while chatting with a friend â at 9pm. Unprofessional and elitist. Save your money and go somewhere that values paying customers.

Best nicoise salad Iâve ever had. Thick cuts of seared tuna, potatoes, & tomatoes, very evenly and well dressed along with string beans, kalamata olives, dill, parsley,onion and possibly fennel? Finally was able to snag a seat as this typically hard to walk in spot. Burger looked good.Fries had just the right amount of salt and were crispy . Large wine menu. Bar and tables are cramped. Cute decor. Canât wait to try the chicken and ricotta . Hostess and server were friendly and helpful.

Awful experience. Landed from a 7 hour flight and this was my first stop to eat. Was there for 30 minutes and couldnât even get served a crumb of food or droplet of drink. When I approached three members of staff they all brushed me off. Donât even bother on a busy evening and if youâre solo just avoid, they donât care. Have read other negative and my experience seems to align with others who were also solo and PoC.

Tried to walk in (three people of color). There were 4-5 seats open at the bar, but the lady at the door last night said âweâre at capacityâ. Proceeded to let the three folks after us walk in⊠guess âcapacityâ only applies to PoCs. I will be contacting the manager.

good vibes, fun crowd, and perfect for girls night. the secret menu đ is worth asking about. we got the burger, wine, and margaritas and all were solid. patio seating is great in nice weather. would come back just for the wine list and scene.
