We sat outside. Our servers were lovely but there were six of us and we never all got our drinks, appetizers, mains, or desserts at the same time. Two or three were served and everyone else waited. The place is pricey and this shouldn't happen.

Staff readily seats you and is kind. It takes a minute to place your order, but the food is good. They are working to shut out the smoke from the kitchen on the bar side. I like to there and hope they can fix that.

We enjoyed our meal, particularly the Cobb salad. I requested a vinaigrette dressing instead of blue cheese dressing and was surprised that a French bistro couldn't provide more than bottles of oil and vinegar. However, I complained to the server, and he brought me a lemon dressing, which was delicious.

Per usual, the eggs were nice and fluffy. BUT I chose spinach and mushrooms: the spinach was uncut and whole pieces dragged along as I tried to cut bites; the mushrooms were also whole and not easily cut with a bite.. Neither was pre-sauteed before being folded into the Omelette. Very disappointing since LeMonde is a "go-to" place for me.

Any baked bread from their own large oven is terrific for sharing. The organic chicken in delicious jus with asparagus and mashed potatoes was cooked to perfection! And the mussels cooked in garlic and white wine sauce along with french fries was a hit with my friends! The service was very friendly and efficient. This is my go-to restaurant in my neighborhood and I give it the highest rating!

We had some problems with the bartender and one of our diners was very unimpressed with his veggie burger. However, the hostess made sure to come over and discuss our issues and she comped us the veggie burger and two desserts. Outstanding customer service. Very attentive to detail and very much cared about our experience. We have been going to this restaurant for a long time and will certainly continue in the future.

Poor service, overpriced food, our tuna had three little pieces and lots of salad for 30$! Was told kitchen was closing when we arrived at 8:30! What?! In NYC?! Incredible. No steak, sold out. Then as we were eating they cleared all the other tables and put the chairs on top. Waitress seemed miserable and put a damper our nice family night out.

Overall it was OK. Food and service were good and as outdoor seating, on the sidewalk, goes it was not bad except for the size of the table. The table for two was so small that we didn't have enough room for for the food and regular plates so we ended up eating from bread plates. That made it uncomfortable. A positive thing was the planters separating the tables from the people walking by.

I had guests from France, a grandmother and two youngsters, plus one sophisticated American cosmopolitan middle aged man. They all found the service friendly and efficient, the food very tasty, and the ambience charming. Keep up the good work, dear Le Monde!

For an old establishment, I am surprised that the food quality was not as bad. Nice aroma in the restaurant, and for years, like close to 30 years, I've always liked the ambience here. The food was only okay, and it is more like an American resy. The outdoor seating experience has been fantastic. The bubbly here was a little flat, a little disappointing, but the service is good as always! Not many good restaurants around here, especially French. This is a go to spot!

I visited NYC for the first time this week, and I must say that one of my top highlights was dining at Le Monde in Morningside Heights! This was not just the best dining experience of my whole trip but a top dining experience of all time! The food was impeccably prepared; the staff was gracious and attentive; the ambiance was sophisticated and cozy; the prices were very reasonable. Overall an exceptional meal! I want to return to New York just to dine here again. Superb!! Don't walk, run to Le Monde!

Delicious house made granola at brunch time.Second time around i had a burger for brunch. My brother gets them every time. I asked to leave out a few things and they did it correctly and didn't seem bothered by it.Despite the fact that the inside of the restaurant is huge, and 75% of it was full, we got our food quite quickly. With the burger you can have fries or a small salad. For the burgers they also had a bernaise sauce? It's on the side so it is optional. Over the last 20 years in that neighborhood, I have gone at least 80% of the time. The one drawback is that they played music in the background that can make it hard to hear.

I was a regular here for 25 years. There must be new ownership. The onion soup held but, but the barmaid sauce on the steak landed flat. The first glass of wine was from an old bottle and stale. The maitre'd was a rude misogynist mess. Too bad I used to really like this place when I was in the Columbia neighborhood but I won't be back. Lots of new choices in the neighborhood now.
