Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, the staff acted like I was inconveniencing them just by existing.

I ordered an Americano, expecting a simple, black coffee. What did I get? A watery mess with milk in it—who puts milk in an Americano?! When I pointed it out, the bartender (or barista, if you can even call them that) rolled their eyes and said, “That’s how we do it here.” Excuse me? Since when?

The whole vibe of this place screams “we don’t care about customers.” If you enjoy terrible service, incorrect orders, and rude staff, this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

The iced vanilla latte was good a little sweet but good. The vegan blueberry muffin was not that good sadly.

Chose the dine-in experience for breakfast and had no trouble placing and receiving my order. While the apple turnover wasn’t much to note, the ham and Gruyère croissant was well done and had a tasty side salad. Friendly staff!

I had a pretty good experience overall. The latte was delicious, and I found the mug design interesting. It’s shaped more like a bowl, which felt a little strange at first but makes sense if you want to warm your hands while drinking.

For food, I tried their chocolate pecan pumpkin crookie, which was just okay. I expected more flavor. On the other hand, the avocado, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun was really good and definitely a highlight. I also had the pumpkin cream donut, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations. The cream had a slightly sour flavor that I didn’t enjoy personally, though others might like it.

The ambiance was lovely, and the service was impressively fast. While not everything wowed me, it was a pleasant visit overall.

First time stopping in after passing so many times! Firstly. Price is high, but it’s Manhattan so what do you expect? I knew the risk when I came in. You have the option of ordering at the front to-go, or sitting for table service. My smoked salmon terrine was delicious. I did order a black iced tea and it was very watered/iced down so for almost $5 I expected better. Atmosphere was nice and cozy, but I feel like they were short staffed as it was only 1-2 people running around.

uhhhh they gave me too many spoons, very expensive, waiter disappeared, nobody refilled our waters, drinks took about 45 mins to get here and i had to go ask them to make them for us at minute 45. L after L tbh. very saddened by this experience. we finished our food before we even received our drinks. very unfortunate experience. not happy.

$17 for a lentil salad, got to work only to realize no dressing, no bread. Last of 2 poor takeout experiences at 2 LPQs now. So disappointed, had been a big fan in the earlier years.

It’s unfortunate I don’t think this review will go anywhere but the few times I’ve gotten food/drink here were bad enough I felt I had to say something…
Overpriced for what you get (even for NYC), and just bad service overall.
The first time I ordered a breakfast item to go from here. The order took over 30 mins to be ready (I ordered in person to go), and then (not to the fault of the staff), my order was stolen. Thankfully they agreed to make me another one for free but the order took another 30 mins so I had to return to work.
Second time ordering from here, I ordered a ham and cheese croissant with egg that is advertised as it comes with a side salad. The total for that is $13 so I figure not bad if it includes the salad. I ordered ahead on my phone and went to pick it up. After 30 mins my order was not ready and what I got was worse than a bodega sandwich - with no salad. This wouldn’t be the biggest deal but the issue is it’s falsely advertised as having the salad, and $12 for a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich with egg is insane. Might as well go get a bodega or deli bec that’s half the price and a lot better….
The cafe itself has a calm and nice atmosphere but since I didn’t eat there both times I wasn’t able to gauge it properly.
LPQ needs to work on the quality of their product and delivery… there are a lot of other good NYC cafes (chain or not) that do a much better job for the same price or less.
Safe to say I won’t be coming back.

Good service (outside of them forgetting to bring one item). Nice environment to sit and have breakfast. Getting pricey though - spent $96 on breakfast for 3 people after tax and tip.

Terrible. 20 minutes to get my check, plus another 15 to collect payment. They got half of the order wrong. Never coming back again

The waiter was so kind to babies too!
The salmon bread was delicious along with the sauce.
It's also quite close to Grand Central Station.

Food was generally okay: large portions but nothing special with the taste. We were thinking about getting a pastry, but they were all extremely expensive- even the tinniest bite-sized tarts were $3-4. The main problem was our service: when we were seated, the server tried seating us in the darkest corner even though the whole restaurant was pretty much open. When we asked to switch, he said nothing to us, frowned, and stared blankly. That’s alright, but it was off-putting anyway. Later, after we got our food, our server barely paid any attention to us. When our water ran out, we had to ask her twice to get it refilled- 10+ minutes just to get refilled water when the restaurant wasn’t even busy. It wasn’t a pleasant experience overall.

Very good avocado toast, I didn't really like the crookie too sweet and fatty, not really any taste

I’ve had their pastries before and they weren’t bad but not worth the money, today I went in because I saw they had pumpkin flavored cream filled donut, on the first bite, i knew this donut was old, after the second bite I couldn’t finish it anymore, I don’t like to complain but if I pay $6.50 for one donut it better be fresh! And this donut was not! It was ice cold and old, not sure if it’s only this location but never going back.

the food is delicious, but the customer service is lacking. my friend and I decided to go to the front and order food and as I walked up to the front, the lady who is taking over at the cash register, with a snarky attitude, asked us if we were ordering to go or dining in. she began raising her voice at me and told us that if we wanted to order dining in we have to sit down, not even being nice about it which was very distasteful. after waiting, I decided that I was only gonna get one thing which was no problem so I decided to take the crookie to go. she took my order and after she rang my total, I proceeded to say have a good day when she threw the bag down and didn’t say a single thing which was highly unprofessional, she was clearly rude about it and she clearly doesn’t wanna do her job and have noticed that she not only talked to me that way, but with other customers as well. I work in the food industry, and would never talk like that to my customers.
