I am so glad I was unable to get a reservation at Joe Allen like I'd originally planned. Le Rivage was the perfect pre-theater dinner spot! 3 courses for $70. I sometimes feel that prix-fixe spots cheap out, but Le Rivage is an exception. Escargot as my appetizer, Coq au vin as my main, tiramisu affogato for dessert. My friends wouldn't stop raving about how good the beef bourguignon was. I'll get that next time. Great service, warm, cozy, delicious! I'll be back! 10/10.
I love Le Rivage. It is my go to for classic French Cuisine in the theater district and it never disappoints. I got the price fixe lunch which is a bargain at $47 for 3 courses. I got the onion soup as my appetizer, the duck a'l orange (this was a $10 supplement- but there are PLENTY of delicious choices that do not require a supplement- but honestly - I just can't resist the duck!) Finally, ile flottante for dessert melts in your mouth! It is by far my favorite way to end my meal!
Disappointing service ruined what should have been a straightforward prix fixe experience. Our server, Catherine, was not attentive, despite the restaurant not being busy. She focused on a large table with automatic gratuity while we were repeatedly ignored. After finishing our entrée, we waited over 20 minutes just for me to flag Catherine for our dessert and the check. The manager then approached us assuming we disliked the dessert, when the issue was clearly the service. Even after explaining this multiple times, they continued to focus on the dessert instead of the lack of attention. We were there for 1.5 hours for a three-course prix fixe meal, while tables seated after us finished and left within an hour. The food was fine, but the service needs serious improvement.
Fine French meal, warm and gracious service and great cocktails. I had the Sazerac and the hanger Steak for the entree. I look forward to going back.
Excellent Butcher Block dinner. The food, the service, and the ambiance were excellent. Kudos!
I love Le Rivage. I've been dining here for years and it's even better now. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is authentic.
This had always been one of our favorite places - both when we lived here and now whenever we visit NYC. The food is full of flavor and the prix fixe dinner is such a good bargain! We brought our cousin here for the first time and she is already planning to come back. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful dinner! Upon entering, we were greeted with such a warm welcome, and having the coat check was an added bonus as we came in from very snowy weather. Our server, Stefan, was very kind and conscientious. The $70 prix fixe dinner was delicious! We enjoyed the entire experience! Thank you!
Always an amazing meal and service Can't beat the delicious plentiful price fix dinner after a show! You feel like you're in a small French cafe with authentic French meals
Booked a pre-theater pre-fix lunch. The choices were fantastic. Amazing mussels, French onion soup, French onion burger, short ribs, and lovely peach melba for dessert. We loved it. The servers were very attentive.

An amazing dining experience. We went before a Broadways show. The food, service and ambiance were wonderful. The three course prix fixe lunch was a tremendous value the portions were large. The taste...perfect.
Absolutely racist French restaurant.
They seated all Asian customers in the very back corner of the restaurant. When one table asked to change seats, this guy in a suit, i guess it’s the manager or someone in charge whatever, just aggressively crumpled the paper on the table in front of other guests like he has some kind of anger issue.
Lol dude, I don’t care whether it was intentional or not, it made your customers uncomfortable.
The only reason this place gets one star is because of the lovely server. He was genuinely friendly and warm. Honestly, maybe he should be the manager.
You must try Le Rivage. The staff was friendly and professional. The service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. It was the ideal spot for our anniversary dinner before heading to the Imperial Theatre to see Chess.

This a wonderful place. I have been dining here since they were Cafe De soir in the 80's. So I have been a customer since 1980.
