Our dinner was absolutely impeccable. Cheers to the kitchen and everyone in the front of the house -- all of whom were extremely attentive and knowledgeable -- for making our evening a special one. We hope to see you again soon!

The menu is extremely confusing as it's in French. For example we ordered the fluke. I assumed it was fluke tartare when it was fried fluke and tartare sauce instead. I wouldn't have ordered it

THE BEST. Incredible. Can't wait to come back. Dominique was fantastic and gracious and we just cannot say enough.

As a french person, I am very picky about french cuisine, I need to admit I found the food so good. Amazing experience thank you

This was a disappointment. Providing only a limited Prix Fix menu at lunch was frustrating and, at two courses, not a good value at $85. My two dishes, which otherwise were interesting and well prepared, suffered badly from too much salt, ruining the delicate flavors. The service was excellent, but the room is dark and very noisy, so unpleasant for conversation. This much anticipated trial of what had been an old favorite did not deliver.

Le Veau d'Or was everything we had heard (and hoped), and more. The service was efficient, warm and helpful. We weren't rushed and we also weren't kept waiting for anything. Our waiter was personable and informative. And the food! Loved the menu of some "oldies" and some "newbies." Was disappointed that they did not have the frog legs, but was assured that they will be back when the supplier has them again. The pate was the best I've ever eaten. The lobster was sweet and tender and accompanied by dabs of a finely chopped, rich salad. My husband said he will only ever be able to order the duck when we go back (and we will go back soon!) because it was so amazing. We were surprised by the wine list, which is not large but very well chosen and reasonable in price. We appreciated the restaurant not trying to overcharge on wine and carefully assembling an organic selection. We loved the small, cozy, Parisian dining room, and the buzz of noise showed that everyone was happy and what the owners/chef/staff are trying to do is working. We had an all-around great dinner.

Wonderful, but expensive, food & service. Worth a “special” visit. Only down side, apart from cost, is the bar stools don't have backs.

everything was executed wonderfully, i think it's worth the cost. you get a few freebies and everyone is very attentive

Came here on a lazy 4th of July holiday. Room and ambience was super. Service was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. Food was delicious, from bread to mousse au chocolat. Will most certainly return.

The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself is charming. We felt the prix-fixe two course lunch was overpriced at $85 per person; as were the martinis at $26 each (even for these Manhattanites!). To be honest, the food was not that special. We had expected far better.

The reincarnation of a beloved restaurant that we have both loved since childhood is an unmitigated success! We loved our first "return meal" and look forward to making Le Veau d'Or an important part of our dining-out lives going forward. The look and ambiance of the current restaurant is happily reminiscent of the original's cozy and comfortable decor and the menu featured some of the classics we remembered as well as interesting new dishes. Everything we had was delicious! The staff was most attentive and kind, which we greatly appreciated. As we looked around us, it was obvious that our fellow diners were as happy as we were.

Hard to imagine this was our first time dining in a restaurant in our neighborhood. Very enjoyable lunch experience. All the courses were so beautifully prepared and absolutel delicious. While not a very large restaurant, it felt very cozy and the service was very good. Will definitely return.

This was just a fantastic experience! For those of us who removed the previous version, this is quite the improvement! The charm and exceptional service are still great, but now the restaurant truly serves food worthy of this institution of French gastronomy. I don't think there is a better experience in the city!

We had a lovely meal! Andi was an amazing server and all of the food was incredible. Such a special place

The food and service here are outstanding. Everything we ate was good, and our server was very patient explaining everything and giving recommendations. The pre-fixe itself is a pretty good deal but the bill can get pretty high pretty fast with some drinks. I would absolutely recommend this place, and will definitely be back.
