Came in here on a whim and what a great choice it was! Tucked into a quiet, cozy corner of the neighborhood, the decor and atmosphere felt like stepping into your cool, eclectic aunt’s house to catch up over a bottle of wine.Food was excellent - approachable fare with some touches to make each dish unique and special to the restaurant:1. Fried pickles - fresh, thinly sliced hand pickled cucumbers in a crispy batter. Never had any like this before and I’ll think of their freshness often when back in Chicago!2. Steak Frites was divine as well - the green peppercorns and the crust on the steak made for an excellent dish3. Rotisserie Chicken Baguette was like cheesy garlic bread with broccoli and chicken. I think this was our favorite of all of the things we got!4. Oysters, according to my dad, were the best he ever had!If you just want something cozy and a menu that’s full of classics with a bit of flair, this is the spot!

My weekend dining experience was utterly disappointing, to say the least. The food was not only unpalatable but excessively salty, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth both figuratively and literally. Each dish seemed to be drowning in sodium, overpowering any other flavors that might have been present. It was evident that the chef had a heavy hand with the salt shaker, resulting in an unpleasant dining experience. Moreover, the excessive saltiness lingered long after the meal was over, further adding to my dissatisfaction. This culinary misfortune turned what should have been a relaxing weekend into an ordeal of trying to salvage meals and find alternative dining options. Overall, it was a regrettable experience that I would not wish upon anyone else.

Food was fine and ambience was good. However, my friend and I walked in at 9:29 on a Saturday night with a 9:30 reservation. Originally, it had been 9:15, but we changed it to later because we were coming from the theater. When we approached the host, instead of welcoming us in, she said "well actually we had you in for 9:15, so you're late". Not exactly hospitable. Also, even if our reservation had been for 9:15, we weren't even over the 15 minute grace period yet. I took out my phone to show her the email I had received confirming the time change, and she very rudely said "doesn't matter. We had you for 9:15". As a hostess for a restaurant myself, I was shocked to see that this is what Left Bank has at the door as a customers first introduction to the establishment. Very abrasive and rude and left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the evening. Won't be back.

Food is subpar and way too expensive for quality. I'm confused by all the good ratings.

Came here with my wife and daughter. We were greeted pleasantly, seated immediately. The vibe was very relaxed, cozy and elegant.Service was attentive and friendly. The food and drink were excellent. The place grew livelier as the evening went on, but not oppressively so, and the music was at a volume that allowed for conversation...all too rare, it seems.Would definitely return. The Happy Hour specials were quite good as well.Good job, everyone!Vegetarian options: There definitely are some, but we didn't pay much attention.

I don't feel strongly about this West Village establishment. Picture speaks for itself here.

Cute, local, unpretentious place with unique vibe. Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese was delicious. Overall I’d recommend this place for brunch or lunch. Brunch menu looked delicious!

I will go back here any day for the Egg Omelette!!! The holiday drinks were good too!Love the brunch vibes here. The ambience was too loud, too crowded and too hot (temperature) for my liking. I could hardly hear the employees speak, and since the tables were so close to other tables they had to stand a bit farther than usual.

We came here for happy hour and enjoyed all the food and drinks we ordered. The cheeseburger was incredibly juicy and tender, and the fries were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The octopus and oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be back!
