The original location of the gourmet cookie chain. Levain makes a handful of different delicious cookies, which are filled with chips and nuts for an above market premium price.

While the menu isn’t as expansive, or frequently updating, as some of the other premiere cookies chains, they have nailed all the classics, and make a great gift or special occasion treat.

Tried a few different cookies split amongst our family of super cookie snobs and no one was impressed.
Cookies are served up warm and should come with a quart of milk as a standard option
Judgement of a good cookie is if my wife and kids devour all within a day…. We had leftover cookies after 3 days. Giant ‘scone’ size cookies with excessive chocolate just aren’t our thing.

Small Place with Friendly staff. Levain Bakery in NYC is a Gem! Their cookies are warm, thick, gooey, and absolutely heaven. Each bite melts in your mouth. Perfect Treat for Sweet Tooth. ❤️❤️

Today I woke up with cookie cravings and I thought of going with a NYC institution: Levain Bakery at the original flagship store on 74th Street. My oh my! It was love at first bite, literally! I went for the dark chocolate chip cookie, gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside, and I swear, things like these are comparable to drugs! So good it should be illegal! Absolute crack! One of the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. Then I tried an assorted selection of their best sellers: their famous chocolate chip & walnut, the dark chocolate peanut butter, and the one with salted caramel… all beyond reasoning! My taste buds were having a full-on party. Hands down the best cookies in New York City and definitely every Newyorker’s rite of passage! Worth every bite!!!

Shoutout to the Rittenhouse location. We are at Chop with our 4 year old son who just had surgery. I figured after the day we had let’s have some cookies. I placed an order from Levain on door dash. My wife after the long day she had put in the wrong address on the door dash order and the driver called screaming at me and wouldn’t come 1.3 miles to bring them even after explaining the circumstances. Door dash refunded my whole order without me even asking and I called Levain and they went above and beyond. They gave us cookies on the house and even threw in an extra chocolate chip and delivered them to CHOP. Not only are the cookies fabulous the hospitality is second to none. I am a lifelong customer to this location and want to thank everyone at the Rittenhouse location especially Mat who went above and beyond. Thanks again!

Amazing cookies! Tried last spring when we were in NYC. My family talks about them all the time so I just surprised them and had some shipped to us. 20 seconds in the microwave and it’s like they’re fresh from the oven.

These cookies were burnt! Like inedible type of burn even the walnuts tasted burned . They where hard and stiff and nothing like the gooey goodness I'm used to getting and I was so desperately craving. I'm soo extremely disappointed. I normally go to the Fredrick Douglas location and never had any issue .

Honestly, one of the best cookies out there (so good that eat them without taking a photo of them)! Loved their chocolate chip cookie but weirdly enjoyed their dark chocolate one even more. Another positive thing about their cookies, is that they were warm out of the oven and that’s best way to indulge.

The New (& fabulous) Coffee Toffee Cookie is so delicious! A seasonal offering, it's a dark chocolate Cookie with just the right balance of coffee and vanilla with bits of toffee. The cookie really is as dark as in the pics (shown with a Coconut Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie). One pic shows the bottom where you can see some of the toffee that runs through the whole cookie. Not overly sweet and very chocolate forward, it hits the spot for dark chocolate lovers. I hope it's here to stay, but if not, get over and get some while you can. The staff is attentive and kind. Love Levain!
