I had a very disappointing experience at lexington candy shop The Coke was completely flat, the ice cream had no flavor, and the sandwiches were subpar. Overall, it was not worth the money at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Old school luncheonette/candy store. Have the egg cream or homemade coke or a homemade root beer float.

Prepare it at home. Waiting in the sweltering sun, then receiving a lukewarm Coca-Cola, poor customer service, and an English-to-Spanish translator who charges you more than you want to tip—which should be zero—just for the bad experience. To top it all off, be prepared to pay for the site's reputation.

I can’t rate this place because I got there at 3 o’clock and there were 20 people in line. They had eight open seats at the Counter, but you still had to wait in line for one of those seats.
It looks like it’s a place that’s been social medias to death, hence the lines. It looks like a nice place inside, but be ready to wait half an hour to an hour to sit down at a diner. It’s crazy and they didn’t seem to be in any hurry to seat people either..
Blast from the past...just stopped in for another egg cream and a root beer float...next time..Lunch!

The 100+ years old establishment makes all the delicious classics of the soda fountain era on historical equipment that is no longer made anymore. The food is good and the service is great, considering how busy the place is. My main complaint is that the soda fountain items are extremely overpriced and expensive. A woman next to me with a 3 year old girl ordered a coke float and a small ice cream cone for the child. Her bill was $20.60! My bill was $46 for a club sandwich, a cherry coke, and a creamsickle shake. This place is way too expensive.

The experience was not that great as i would have expected, I came from MN because I thought lt would be a great experience to visit this place and eat there enjoy myself with my family but it was the opposite. After we ordered we already had eaten but felt rushed after that. We had already given her 70 bucks for the check, and asked for change for the tips after the check. She came we put down the tips on the table and she back and said “There is a law in the NY to tip 20%” we looked it up and no there is not one. The problem here was not the tip, it was the way she approached at us so rudely that ruined our experience. Afterwards she came back and argued with us about this topic we told her we are not tourist and we are from the USA, and we know the tip culture. If you are a tourist don’t let yourself get surprised by the servers saying there is a law for tips, because there is not one.

Very bad experience. The waitress was rude and pushy, demanding a 15% tip, even though I was already planning to leave $5 on a $55 bill. Her attitude was completely inappropriate. On top of that, the bathrooms were very dirty and poorly maintained. Terrible service. I do not recommend this place and will not be coming back.

Went out of my way to check this place out. It was “okay” - I got a coke cola ice cream float. It was actually a little warm - the ice cream cooled it slightly. Taste was normal.
The service was also okay, the best thing about this place is the history. Would I go back, if I was passing, sure. But don’t go out of your way.

I had high high hopes for this place. A tear drop went down my cheek as the warm flat soda filled my mouth. When I say tourist trap, I mean tourist trap. Not to mention, the above average pricing on a float that they're known for. For a hundred years of history, this place has surely went from local gemstone to tourist monopoly. From forcing customers to wait in lines outside when tables are available inside to mediocre, warm floats-this place has truly devastated my experience. The main server is uptight and ignorant of customer service, seeming to believe that the customers owe the store not the other way around. Only redeeming factor is the homey decor that was ruined with the broken seats. There should be no reason that the booth seat moves and shifts when I get up. Period.

Came to this place for the old school coke with the syrup and everything, expecting no less and no more than a regular coke (taste wise), and left dissapointed, The Coke tasted like when you leave the bottle open or the cap loose for a while, basically with less gas than usual which for me was a bummer as I can clearly tell the difference between a good one and a not so good one.
Food was OK, nothing extraordinary. Service was good. Place is rather small.
