Lords was a 3.5 - 4 star experience through and through. I walked by this place one morning and decided to check it out for dinner. The food is solid, likely nothing you’ll write home about. The menu is creative and there are a lot of options for everyone, which I did appreciate.
Scotch Egg: I started with the scotch egg which was maybe the one item I was looking forward to most and I was slightly disappointed. It’s solid. If you’re curious about it, get it. But I will say I found it dry and while flavorful, fell short in the tzatziki esq sauce that accompanied it. The egg was perfectly cooked though.
Snap pea salad: if you’re looking for a refreshing salad this will do the job. The snap peas were great and so was the sheep’s cheese. The dressing maybe could’ve used some more pizzaz.
Chips: Hot, crispy, a little oily. Mine was very very salty. Overall, enjoyed.
Duck Mince Pie: I wanted to love this. It was solid, but it wasn’t great. The pastry left a little bit to be desired and for $40 you’re just kinda sitting there wondering if it was worth it. The duck was lovely though and the sauce the pie sat it was also very tasty (enjoyed dipping my chips in it).
Apple Rhubarb Crisp: Very good! Once the honey ice cream melts and the flavor comes together, this hits the spot. I appreciated that it wasn’t too sweet.
Vibes: The restaurant is decorated very cute and homey. The large bathroom has maybe the prettiest toilet seat I’ve ever seen + funny framed wall quotes by the sink. However, as other diners have said, the ambient noise level in the restaurant is quite loud, which makes it hard to hear your dinner party at times. I think they would benefit from some noise absorbing decor or better spacing some of the tables.
Get the burger and the martini. Let me repeat for the people in the back: Get. The. Burger. And. The. Martini.
Lord’s is a cozy, well-executed spot that’s perfect for date night. The food is high quality and easy to share, with thoughtful flavors throughout the menu. The duck pie with chanterelles and Swiss chard is the standout — rich, tender filling wrapped in flaky pastry, paired with pickled turnips and fig. Easily the best duck pie I’ve had in NYC. The limited daily burger is also worth trying — juicy, cheesy, and served on a satisfying pretzel-style bun. Great atmosphere, great food.
The steak was one of the best I’ve had. Scotch egg is also a must!
Loved the oyster , curried lamb egg , snap pea salad and chocolate mousse with Madelines straight from oven was to die for . Snap pea Tini wasn’t my favorite one. Overall a good and memorable dining experience
The burger of course was great but the Duck pie was fantastic. Loved the chips. Super heavy. Oysters kilpatrick were amazing but they were so umami I would struggle to eat more than one at a time.

One of my favorite places in NYC. It’s rare for people to rave about British food, but they know what they are doing. Don’t skip on their salad, it’s the type of thing you don’t want to order because the Scottish egg, the rarebit, the quail, the burger are all competing, but just add it. Great somm too. Cool vibe and decor. I can’t wait to go back.

Great dinner here. Staff were super helpful and the food was exactly what we were looking for (especially the tomato tuna toast)

British food? Miss me with that.
Seated 45 mins after reservation. Wouldn’t go back. Expensive for what it is.

We have a great dinner at Lord’s! Loved every dish we ordered, especially the quail toast and the Proper English Chips. The chips were super crispy on the outside and yet soft on the inside. Desserts should not be skipped! Service was also impeccable.

Lovely atmospheric spot serving elevated British food. As a Brit in NYC I absolutely approve. Excellent cocktails and service. Pretty good value for a hyped up spot in this location.

Staff was a little slow when I went but it was pretty busy so I understand. Burger is highly worth getting if you can make it in before they sell out- (they only make 12 a day)
And definitely get the Scotch eggs. I don’t even like eggs like this, but these were a slam dunk. Also their fries are the best I’ve had in a LONG time.

This place canceled our Saturday night reservation less than an hour before our seating. We already on our way to the restaurant and when we arrived, we were offered nothing as an apology for our time. Their only solution was to offer take-out. I understand that things happen but if I canceled with the same notice, I would have been charged $50 per guest.
