Truly lovely experience all around. We were welcomed into this cozy spot by a friendly staff with Kimi taking extra care to make our evening pleasant. Seating is limited with reservations becoming necessary to guarantee a space, but honestly the space is the perfect set up for good conversation. The wine list was nicely curated—we chose the 2017 Super Tuscan, which was smooth, rich, and paired well across the meal. We began with the antipasto. The quality was immediately apparent... the prosciutto was buttery on the palate and the house pickled veggies added a bright, fresh note. For the mains, the cacio e pepe had the perfect creamy texture (I need the chef to teach me their ways for this!), well-balanced salt to black pepper, and good bite to the pasta. My husband was lucky enough to snag the final duck ragu special of the evening and (wow!) we're so glad to have done so. Perfectly cooked with tender meat and flavors that transported us right back to the osterias on the streets of Italy. We ended with the tiramisu (light and creamy) and a pistachio affogato, which did get a bit outshined. Hospitality was top notch here making this is a “must add” meal experience for your list. We will definitely be returning for more.

Great food and service in an elegant small space that never gets too noisy for good conversation!

It is already difficult to get a timely reservation because this kitchen is terrific. They need a bigger dining room. One hopes they find one soon and that when they do, they include the ability to keep the noise level moderate. This time we tried the Cod Livornese, a ravioli special stuffed with fresh ricotta and smidgeons of shaved prosciutto followed by a limoncello panna cotta and a pear tart. There is a lovely choice of red wines by the glass. They deserve to succeed, but I hope they can maintain the quality in the challenging process.

L'Osteria is a little neighborhood gem. Consistently excellent food and service have made it a repeated port of call for my family. Everyone has his/her favorites, but I keep returning to the Chicken Milanese. This simple dish is actually surprisingly hard to do, but L'Osteria never disappoints. Highly recommended for either lunch or dinner.

A true neighborhood gem, well worth traveling to from outside the neighborhood! Terrific food with a menu that makes you want to order everything on it, and service that is extraordinarily attentive, professional and caring. Lovely, calm atmosphere, a real oasis in the middle of the City. Highly, highly recommended.

Okay so we've come every year for several years and it has always been enjoyable. My partner had the cod and was impressed. I had the chicken milanaise which was delicious. And even though we lingered during and after dinner - they were extremely gracious and never rushed us ... I sort of felt bad 🤷‍♂️ I cannot recommend this restaurant enough !!!

Went to L'Osteria for a family weekend lunch. The dining room is small and was fairly full but didn't feel cramped. Service from the entire team was attentive, friendly and excellent as was the food which I thought was good value.

The ambiance was great. The salads were wonderful, but the pastas were just ok and in my opinion not worth the price.

Our waiter was fantastic as was their staff - professional with great positive vibe. Secind time. Took my younger son back there for birthday as he requested their pasta with pesto, all dishes fresh and unadulterated like being in Italy.

L'Osteria is a wonderful place for a quiet and delicious meal on the Upper East Side--small scale, appealing menu with excellent wine, warm and attentive service. I always have supper there on my visits to NYC from SF

Wonderful food and service! A bit pricey, but worth it. We were there for lunch and were treated like good friends. This is now a go-to restaurant whenever I'm in the area.

This is a very small Italian restaurant at 82nd and Lexington there are only 12 tables but the service was superb the food was very good and it's a wonderful place to have lunch now that the dining room at the Metropolitan Museum is closed. My next trip to New York I will certainly stop in again
