Unbelievably S-L-O-W service. We came to the museum for a 7:00 pm concert and decided to grab a quick bite at this cafe. We placed our food order at 6:26, assuming it wouldn’t take long for them to assemble sandwiches from ready ingredients. How wrong we were! At 6:45, a very friendly server informed us that they were just starting (!) to chop herring for our order. Frustrated, we changed the order and requested the quickest sandwich option. They finally brought our sandwiches at 6:55. I finished mine, but my wife was too anxious to eat more than a bite of hers.
Regarding the food itself: my signature sandwich was excellent and beautifully presented. It actually was two sandwiches in one order—coulld be enough for two people. My wife’s lox bagel was also good, although she didn’t have time to enjoy it.

The vegetarian lox bagel was pretty good and so were the potato latkes. Simple yet tasted homemade. However, for a "high-end" with high prices bistro, the staff and chefs were pretty disappointing in that none of them cared enough to check the ingredients or even know what went in the cooking unlike other restaurants. My husband has a dietary restriction to refined sugar yet they couldn't bother to find out if the salad dressing, applesauce or walnuts (which tasted sweet to me but could be honey) had sugar or not.

We got the crispy potatoes with dill and garlic. They were so tasty. We wish they had them by the bag. They were like chips. We got bagels and potato latkes. All were good but pricey. Vegetarian options.

Watch your bill here if you use a credit card. I gave the tip in cash but they added a tip when submitting to AmEx. They apologized and issued credit when I called but this is a nuisance.

After walking around the museum and constantly smelling the aroma of the café, I decided to come in for a bite. Noticed it was a very small sitting area but also an option to go to the counter and takeout.Servers were very friendly and quick to help. I ended up ordering a matzo ball soup, potato latkes, and a slice of chocolate babka.Food came out in a reasonable timeframe. The broth of the matzo ball soup was delicious and very filling. The soup itself was 18$.I'm giving four stars because when my potato latkes came out, it was just 5 potato chip sized latkes with a spoonful of sour cream and apple sauce. For 23$, I was very disappointed by the portion. Points for tasting exactly how my father used to make them. The chocolate babka was fresh and tasty.Overall an excellent experience and delicious food options!

Just beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island which seems appropriate for this Museum restaurant. We loved the lox which was very high quality and not salty on a wonderful bagel with terrific garnish. The matzo ball is light and fluffy and the soup just right on a cold Feb afternoon. Our server suggested the chocolate strudel which was better than the strudel in Vienna. I can't think of a better lunch I have every had in the area and look forward to returning to try the Bobka.

Don’t show up expecting that the menu on the website will match the menu at the restaurant or that anyone on staff will have any clue what you are talking about when you ask about the menu on the website.
