Small coffee place, for baked goods they offer two vegan muffins. The oat cranberry muffin was delicious and moist (kind of a banana muffin). Only a few sitting spots inside. Updated from previous review on 2024-12-21

I don't know what happened to this place but I will not be returning. The barista was very condescending when I ordered a Turmeric drink instead of coffee-based drink.

Lucid Café is a delightful spot on Lexington Avenue in New York, perfect for chai latte enthusiasts. Their signature chai latte is a standout—rich, perfectly spiced, and balanced with just the right amount of sweetness if requested. The café's ambiance is cozy and inviting, with minimalist decor and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. Alongside their excellent chai, Lucid offers a range of other coffee options and delicious pastries that are freshly baked and pair perfectly with their drinks. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to work or a cozy corner to relax, Lucid is a must-visit.

I started my day at a quaint café that exuded warmth and a friendly vibe. The espresso I enjoyed in the morning was as rich and satisfying as I had hoped. However, the $5 minimum for card payments was a slight inconvenience.

Delightful ham and cheese panini with yuzu marmalade—fresh made, wrapped each half in paper. Excellent latte. Superior service—respectful and kind.

Used to live across from them before the pandemic, still miss the atmosphere and service, think about it probably twice a month. The coziest little bastion of comfort in nyc.

Small space but kind staff. According to Lucid Cafe’s menu, chai is supposed to be one of their specialties, but the iced chai latte with oat milk I ordered was very watery and lackluster. However, I was very pleased with their food (avocado toast) and the two vegan baked goods available (oat cranberry muffin and chocolate walnut). Both muffins were tasty and moist, although the oat cranberry was a bit rich. Was disappointed to see they changed their menu (at some point after previous reviewers went) and no longer offered vegan pancakes. So, it was a limited menu with generally good tasting food and poor tasting chai.

Wow, great coffee. I got an almond milk cappuccino and it was fantastic. The foam was a noticeably delicious texture and the almond milk seems to be homemade. Anyone who wants an alt milk coffee should try.

Dietary restrictions: The homemade almond milk is fantastic. It actually foams well unlike most alt milks at coffee shops.

A charming little coffee shop with friendly greeting and kind service.
The espresso is a bright, lighter roast with acidity.
Very good almond croissants.
