I just had a pork katsu curry but it was very mediocre. Drink prices have been increased significantly like up by 40%, especially the price of Shochu. The cost wise it is not worth izakaya. I have not try other dishes besides pork katsu. But the drink prices here is totally turn off. The management needs to be reasonable to put the price of Shochu.

The cocktail menu was full of good choices (named after popular characters). We got an Osaka set (skewers) and appetizer to split. Meat skewers were tasty and cooked well but perhaps could have had more standalone flavor (without us adding shichimi/togarashi or scallion or onion skewers, for example). Lots of options on the menu to suit a variety of tastes. Good to share or eat solo. Service was attentive and timely but not rushed. Would go back for a cocktail and to try more of the menu.

This place is really cute and staff is great! Only thing, I have ordered the Tan Tan ramen twice and for what ever reason it is super greasy. Like there was a layer of oil over the broth when I opened my take out.

I haven’t even left yet and I’m leaving a 5 star review! I went by myself and sat at the bar and it was terrific.

Food was terrific. I’d been craving okanomayaki since I left Japan and this put that craving to rest.

Bartender asked what band I wanted to listen to and put it on.

I can’t wait to come back. This place rules.

EDIT: I came back and unfortunately it did not live up to my previous expectations. The okanomayaki was burnt and our skewers came out cold. The place was packed and the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed so I did not want to send anything back. I'll try for a third time but I am sad that my re-visit was not an ideal eating experience

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night around 7 pm. It was a packed house but it was lively. We ordered the Chiritori Nabi - Akaneko Spicy which is $29 per person. It was definitely too spicy for us but we still enjoyed every single bite. We had to walk around the block after dinner because we were so full. We ordered yummy cocktails but couldn’t finish those either.

They are not Japanese owned or staffed (seemed Chinese or Korean) but it is okay for non Japanese people for having late night drinks, service was pretty quick

Great place! Deep drinks menu(whiskey,Sake, beer and more) with great Ramen and endless selection of bar/finger food. Would take many visits to “scratch” all the right spots—goals set!

The nabe was outstanding — the broth was rich and deeply flavorful, and all the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The balance of meat, vegetables, and soup was perfect, and it only got better as we kept eating. We finished every last drop.
