Oh my. The spicy Louie is an incredible sandwich. The perfect combo of juicy and crispy. And they do not skimp on the fries! A gem of a place.

A lot of us are sad this place left, and we wish the owner tons of luck in his next endeavor.

By a significant margin the best chicken sandwich Ive had. I'd recommend the spicy, as in its base form the spice is all flavor. you can even ask for extra spicy, but it's not a necessity. the chicken on the inside is literally wet while the outside has audible crunch. the fries are incredible and the cole slaw is the best Ive had in years.these guys are masters of their craft and I plan on making myself a regular.

I have to start with saying that the owner / gentlemen that is always at the restaurant is an absolute class act! Today, my order made it to my apartment a lot earlier than the expected arrival time, which is usually amazing but I was on my way home from the airport to watch my grandson. The seamless carrier gave me a hard time and told me he wouldn’t wait *literally 5 mins* and had to bring my order back to the restaurant. The gentleman very kindly had one of his workers bring it back to my apartment with no fee - which was incredibly sweet and genuinely appreciated.Secondly, this is hands down the best fried chicken I’ve had in NYC and I will go as far as saying is the best I’ve EVER had. This is coming from someone that is a tough critic - goes on many foodie dates with my friend who runs a number of restaurants instagram accounts and that I go to multiple restaurants with her to try the food. It is consistently fresh and the order is always correct. Lord help me finding Lucky Louie’s… I cannot stop eating it now! Thank you again for being so effing GREAT!

Amazing service ! The food was delicious (loved their Mac&cheese ! ) and the fries were excellent. The waiters were more than nice as well. Sunny place to eat, even in the midst of OctoberI would definitely recommand it !

Great addition to the West Village, an easy going non pretentious place to have some finger licking' chicken! fun to Hang out outside people watch and eat there, and not spend a fortune! I had the Louie sandwich and my son had the Mac and cheese and he loved it. Food is made with thought here. Thanks Lucky Lou we will be back.

Wow, the spicy Louie sandwich was delicious!! Grabbed a quick bite and really enjoyed it. The chicken was served hot & fresh and had a little kick to it. Great spot for fried chicken.

Louie's was luckier than I was sadly. After much angst on who to get the best spicy chicken sandwich for lunch I landed on this place, even though a competitor whom will remain unnamed (see sauce in pic), just opened and has my heart. Timeliness, friendliness of pick up and ease to get, was all great. Just to gauge them for anyone reading, I live a 8 minute walk in soho near by. My issue is with the fact a deep fried chicken, could be this under done on the inside and the outside was not crunchy either. I thought the French fries would redeem it all, sadly, they were much the consistency of the chicken, underdone even for take out. I will not give it a bad rating, because it was also take out.

I stopped by with a friend and we ordered some THE SPICY LOUIE's and a side order of MAC & CHEESE. All of the food was delicious, fresh, & made-to-order.I usually don't take time to leave reviews of restaurants, but wanted to here because the owner was so caring about our experience. Definitely recommend this place for excellent fried chicken & to support a local business with a courteous owner.

Inedible. Pink chicken that tasted raw. Place needs a health inspection immediately. Cashier was messing with his hair and wiping his forehead before boxing up togo orders. Neither him or the chef are using gloves.

Another fantastic chicken sandwich you must try. This guy was massive and cooked perfectly. The fries too…. So good. My girlfriend got the grilled Buffalo chicken wrap and it was amazing as well. To be honest, I think I’d order the wrap again before the sandwich. The only change I’d make is maybe going with fried tenders instead of grilled just to see what’s better. Overall great spot for a good price if you want something quick on the west side. Tons of outdoor seating as well.

I could go on and on about how much I love this place… so I’ll keep it simple. Their “Spicy Louie” sandwich is BY FAR the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had, and I’ve had an unholy amount throughout my life. They use chicken thighs so the meat itself is always full of flavor and NEVER dry. Perfection.

Maybe the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, definitely the best chicken sandwich in New York. Phenomenal.

Hands down the best friend chicken in all of NYC and trust me I've tried all of them!! They fry your chicken to order (unlike most places that have them pre fried) and the chicken comes out crunchy, juicy and moist. It's perfectly seasoned -- not too spicy -- and you can really taste the chicken. That's what fried chicken is about, the chicken!

Lucky Louie's is set up to order at the counter with limited seating inside but chairs and tables outside. Based on the layout I thought the food would be ready fast, but I didn't mind the 10-ish minute wait for them to make it fresh. The tenders and fries were both perfectly crispy and the mac and cheese was smoky and creamy. Service was also very friendly. I can't wait to go back for more!
