Prices seem high but portions are so large they can be shared unless you have a huge appetite. Consistency of food is not predictable but is generally pretty good. Service is generally good. Restrooms resli need remodeling.

Not a good option for lunch or dinner. Large portions, but the food is poorly prepared.

This diner was great. We went for Saturday brunch and it was packed, but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered an omelette and a chicken caesar wrap—both were excellent. The omelette was huge, the fries were fresh, and we left very full and happy. Would definitely come back.

I live in the neighborhood for more than 20 years. The ingredients always fresh, the portions fair , service is excellent.
If I am on my own they cannot give me a boot so I was torn selfishly that if I make this perfect dinner more popular than what is it already, I will never get a boot :)
Also it is not a touristic place, it is homey and personal . It is our neighborhood hang out. I love this place.
Even in these economic time, they bring coffee as much as you desire. I usually leave home with a rapid heart beat
Love this diner. Hope it lasts and thrives for a long time
Exellent food , good prices , huge portions, exellent service , big place to have breakfast , comfortable , clean , highly recommended
Rude service and overpriced food. I do not recommend this place. A bad experience both times I visited.

Classic American restaurant. Food was good, lunch menu is affordable and has bunch of options. Don’t expect much. Service and attention could have been better. It has a nice outside availability.

My wife and I went to the Madison again for breakfast. We have been there many times over the years. We ordered an omelette and pancakes. Both were very good. But beware! The portions are huge. Service was fine and the booths are good except that they seem to be very tight in sitting space. A large person probably would be very comfortable in that tight space.
Big spacious diner and seating outside as well.

After a 10 hour flight our hotel suggested this place for breakfast and it was ideal, food was great, service was really good, not sure about prices as it was our first time in new york but seemed reasonable, we ended up having a few meals here as it was so convenient and clean looking, only thing was I just never got to sample their deserts which I'm now kicking myself for!

A classic diner, my meatloaf was delicious and the salads looked great. Prices reasonable (for New York!) Lots of seating. A little bit loud.
A real New York diner! Always ask your waiter what he/she would get. You can't go wrong with that. The lunch specials come with a cup of soup and tea (hot) or coffee.

I've been here before and never had an issue with the service but recently we were in the back room and the service was awful. No coffee refills even after we asked. Even the check was hard to get!
