THE EXPLORER
My wife and I went to the Madison again for breakfast. We have been there many times over the years. We ordered an omelette and pancakes. Both were very good. But beware! The portions are huge. Service was fine and the booths are good except that they seem to be very tight in sitting space. A large person probably would be very comfortable in that tight space. Big spacious diner and seating outside as well.

After a 10 hour flight our hotel suggested this place for breakfast and it was ideal, food was great, service was really good, not sure about prices as it was our first time in new york but seemed reasonable, we ended up having a few meals here as it was so convenient and clean looking, only thing was I just never got to sample their deserts which I'm now kicking myself for!

A real New York diner! Always ask your waiter what he/she would get. You can't go wrong with that. The lunch specials come with a cup of soup and tea (hot) or coffee.

I've been here before and never had an issue with the service but recently we were in the back room and the service was awful. No coffee refills even after we asked. Even the check was hard to get!
The land of $16 sandwiches and $26 specials. This diner is severely overpriced. Wait staff is not happy. My waitress glared at me when I sat down at a clean table and asked me if I’d seen her tip. Then within minutes, she ran toward me and reached under my table, without notification or permission, and grabbed her tip which she had spotted on the floor. This event should have been handled by management. Tips should be pooled and split by all workers to prevent fights among waiters and to instill a teamwork environment. After this horrible experience, I’ll never return to this diner to dine and with its predatory pricing, will never order out for delivery again.

Unprofessional wait staff. Overpriced food. I was Charged $6.50 for a glass of orange juice. I was never once given a refill on my coffee. In fact when i asked if it could be replaced because it was cold, They charged me for my replacement. $2.00! Before I could finish my food The cheek was slapped down in my face. This Place is a Zoo!

I really like this diner. Generous portions and good food but the new hostess ( short Guatemalan lady/8-18 1pm ) is extremely rude. I watched her interact with other customers. It wasn't just me. Maybe she was just having a bad day but she spoiled my otherwise nice experience I usually have there. I am a regular.
